I know the Texas weather is very uncomfortable for my long-haired, two-coated dog, but I have also heard that shaving him would eliminate his natural "cooling system" and his skin's protection from the sun.

She has no children, so her animals are her "kids" and she LOVED that dog, and obviously she is a complete wreck. I'm used to the death of people, not of animals...is there a protocal or etiquette to this? As her friend and the guy who is now running the company while she is grieving (I fully expect her not to back to work for at least a week)...what is the best way to tell clients, business asscociates, etc?

Another question about my puppy. He is new to the lawn and wants to eat the grass all the time. My older dog eats it and I know it is ok...kind of a roughage thing...but can the puppy eat it at 7 1/2 weeks?

I have a St. Bernard and English Mastiff mix and I think it is the coolest cross breed. I have been wanting to see some pictures of one at full grown, but can't seem to find any on the internet. It seems this mix is rare which really surprises me. My pup is 7 months and weighs 117 lbs., does this seem about right? Any info would be appreciated.

I have a champion bred rough collie (lassie) dog and have advertised him for breeding. How much am I supposed to charge for the breeding? I'm not a breeder, he's just a pet.
I have been told that I am entitled a fee or pick of the litter, is this true?

hi all, i have a boxer ***** just over 5 years old, she is a very well behaved dog at home, but when walking and seeing other dogs she is very uncontrolable, and will not hear anything i say to her, is there any way someone could advise me on how to handle this behaviour.

I have a 7 month old Jack Russell puppy. The problem is, he's too much to handle. I have a 2 year old little girl, and all he does is jump up her, because he wants to play. This results in her having claw marks all over her. Even if I take him for an hour walk, it doesn't wear him out. He's chewed all her garden toys, and even when I place them out of reach, he manages to get them! I was thinking of giving him away to someone who could give him the attention, he needs. I just don't know what to do??

My puppy (14 week black Lab female) tore the leaves off one of my strawberry plants... most of it was laying on the ground, so I doubts she ate much. I've moved the pot out of her reach now, and this was last night and she still seems fine. Is this harmful?

Does anybody have a recipe for any kind of natural spray or liquid I can make from common foods/spices, etc. that would help keep my dog away from certain areas in the backyard? I know they have chemical 'boundary' sprays at the pet store, but I was thinking if anybody knows of certain scents, etc. that dogs don't like.

Maybe like pepper in vinegar or something like that? Just so the dog will take a sniff and stay away.
Thanks.

We have a 12 Month old deaf Austrailian Cattle Dog. He is superior in strength and learning skills. He makes up for his loss of hearing by being very tactile. He is great at body slams, and lays by the base stereo speakers. We chose our new Toyota off road truck, with a special snug top, so he could ride around with us, and watch everything that is going on.
He is learning many signs. Thumbs up is his favorite of course. We are learning every day. His eyes look like a road map. He sleeps with them open, so he won't miss anything. We love him sleeping on us. Anyone out there want to tackle this subject? Thanks a bone...
