I wonder how many of you (with the exception of one) even know a person that owns a junk yard and or a junk yard dog.
Having said that most guard dogs, I don't mean by breed but by use, are not inherently mean. they may not be friendly to strangers so a particular junk yard dog may not be nice to you but he probably loves his family more than most dogs love theirs.
Dogs are the happiest when given a job to do, herding dogs need to herd, hunting dogs need to hunt, retrievers need to retrieve and guard dogs need to guard. It is not cruel to give a dog the job for which it was created. In fact most people that know real dog behavior and psychology would tell you treating a dog like a person and not giving it a job to do is the reason for most behavior problems.
So to answer your question; No and Yes.
.....I hope your not using this info to break into a junk yard.

Depends on how the dog was raised if it was raised to be mean then yes it will be mean. My dad owned a junk yard for 5 years and he had to dogs that were the biggest babies in the world. If you were to brake in the only way you would get hurt was if you were allergic to drool. In fact once the juck yard was closed down the female actually ended up becomeing our family dog. And let me tell you she has the patients of a saint. You can pull on her tail and ears all day and not show a bit of aggression. So it all depends on the owner dogs are not born mean they made mean.

Think about the purpose for a dog in a junk yard. If you had to stay there protecting junk all day and night you would be mean too.

yse cuz the owners beat them and never pay attenion to them.and the only reason when they see someone come try to get in the junk yard and the dog starts to growl and all that other stuff is because they can't trust people after what the owner did to the dog.so its pretty bad.

Most of the time yes because they have been mistreated. Worthless cruel people take and will beat them to make them afraid of people and so they will attack anyone who comes near them. Then when the person leaves they leave the dog behind and they starve to death or are killed by worthless kids. People sicken me.

Yes because the owners that bought the dog or whatever taught it to be mean to keep out people.

yes, because ignorant people keep them chained up or letting them roam around, without any love or attention or anyone to play with. of course they're mean.
