Cats - December 2007

I need to teach my cat not to go into one room. I'm thinking about getting one of those collars that shocks them if they go in a forbidden Zone. She attacked and killed two of my other pets. The door was supposed to be closed and the cage locked, but SOMEONE let her in and she ripped open the screen top and maimed two geckos.

A shock collar would make her terrified to go near that place, so that should keep her out.

He usually smells like powder, but from last night, first he did not eat his dinner, then during his sleep, he jumped a couple of times and I noticed a horrible smell coming from him. His mouth started to dribble terribly and he won`t let us hold him, plus he is whinning from time to time.

I have tried searching the Internet, but have found nothing of help.

We will only take him to the vet, if it is necessary, as we believe in self healing upto a certain point.

Would really appreciate knowing what is going on.

They keep going for her and last night they got hold of her again. We have fenced the area off but cats will be cats and Im sure she roams around the garden a little.

What can we do? We have tried introducing them to each other but she is so scared of them. The one is a bull terrior and it is in her blood to chase. Does any one know of any way to get them to just leave my kitty alone?

I am having my sisters cat for the winter. As she thinks its too cold outside for him in his hutch. The thing is I have 2 cats both female and both spayed. The rabbit has also been neutered. How can I introduce them. Do I let the rabbit run free and the cats in the cat boxes or the other way round. Will the cats eventually get used to the rabbit and vise versa. Will the cats attack the rabbit. Any hints or tips or general advice would be greatly appreciated. The rabbit is about the same size as the cats.

How do I get my cat to clean herself. She is the stinkiest cat that I've ever had. She is almost a year old. I don't have any other cats only a dog. And I can't afford to get another cat just so she can learn that she is a stinky cat and learn how to clean herself. She doesn't do well with baths, what to do?

My vet treated ear mites in my cat by putting 2 drops of Frontline in each ear, then the rest on the back of the neck. A member of our family claims her vet says we should not put Frontline in the ears. I have done some research and found out that Frontline can be used to treat ear mites, but I have not seen anything about putting it in my cats ears. Typically it just goes on the back of the neck. Is it OK to put in the ears?

Most everytime I touch my cat like petting or hugging her, she starts to wash her coat. Should I be happy or insulted? What's the meaning of that? Do most all cats do that after human contact? Thank you yahoo. Littabitts
