What's better, or what are the pros and cons of each female and male. I heard that males tend to go away and not return for days.

I've had my spayed cat for over a year(since she was 4 months old. This is her second Christmas.) Anyway lately she's been really excited! Jumping everywhere, attacking my hands, running under furniture and the tree, knocking over Christmas decoration stuff. Normally she wouldn't do that. So what would this mean? I find it funny and cute and I don't get after her because she's not a dog so she won't understand what's wrong and what's right.

I rescued 2 kittens from a farm a couple of months ago and have fallen in love. They are the sweetest brothers...playing and making us laugh all the time. They are going to be neutered on Thursday. I've heard its not such a big deal, but I am nervous that when they come home they will be different. I like how crazy they can be sometimes. I know its important that the pet population is controlled, but I still feel bad doing this to them. Is it normal for me to feel so awful?? I just want them to still be happy and loving...

My cats love tuna. My question is whether it supplies necessary ingredients for their health. Can they be healthy eating only tuna?

I have a couple of cats, there pretty much kittens they were born in April of this year and ive had no problem with them when it comes to cleanliness. I am a very tidy person and I want my house to stay very clean and tidy all the time.

The last few weeks my female cat has been acting up. Every time she eats she wants to put her paws in her bowl and scatter her food around the kitchen. This is driving me crazy!! lol.
I always let there bowl stay about halfway full so that they can eat throughout the day while im working but I am tired of coming home to a floor full of food!! I have to sweep it from underneath the fridge, stove and counters lol.

Any tips on how I can make her stop this?

Thanks.

Help! I have a two year old cat who used to be wild. I tamed her, but she gets a wild streak every once in a while. When you make her mad, she goes and pees over everything. We've tried the difuser, and everything else. I don't really want to fork out MORE money to try to find a solution....so what can I do? She uses the litter box. Again, it is only if you tick her off. Please help?

George is 7-8 months old and much heavier and more solid than our 5yo cat. He weighs 11 lbs. He eats at least twice what she does (he eats a at least a cup a day & 1/2 a can of tuna cat food :) That's the highlight of his day). We just went through a bag of cat food in a week that pre-George would have lasted six weeks!

I bought the adult weight maintenance formula cat food so he gets the nutrients without too much fat...

Is that unusual for a fairly active cat to be eating that much?

P.S. This cat was a stray--we don't know for how long. We're told that might affect his eating habits. Maybe he's eating so much because for so long he had to eat whatever food he found whenever he found it...

I have a Russian Blue without papers. I know for dogs you can send a picture to AKC and they can tell just by that. Is there something similar for cats?

I've got a 15 month himalayan and 6 month old stray, both female. They've been living together for about 1.5 months now. At first they would hiss at each other but now they eat together, hang out on the bed together, and chase each other around. Sometimes their "playing" gets rather physical--they wrestle and grab each other and get all wrapped up and then one might get away and lunge again for a new grab or one might run away and the other gives chase and grabs them and they get all tied up again. It looks like two wrestlers hug eachother tightly. Is this normal? Should it be encouraged or discouraged?

My cat is currently on "Perscription Diet" dry food from my Vet because he had these red dots on his gums due to plaque. I'd like to switch him back to Whiskas for 2 reasons:

1. The Vet's stuff is ridiculously expensive.
2. He wastes alot of it. It comes in large bites and he tends to break some into little pieces then refuses to eat the broken pieces. He usually end ups with half a dish of broken un-eatabe pieces within a few days that I just have to end up throwing them out.

Should I switch it or not?

I have a 2 yr old cat, his last vaccines were given in August '07. At the end on January I am getting a 6 week old kitten from a friend whose family cat recently had kittens. I am wondering if my vaccinated cat can catch anything serious (besides fleas) from the kitten. Also, at what age is a kitten vaccinated? I am new to raising a kitten, as I got my cat when he was already full grown. I am most worried about FIV, but I'm pretty sure my cat was vaccinated against it.

For the past couple weeks a cat showed up at my door, I feed other strays, but this one is a kitten and has a little red collar on him. I know that he belongs to someone, but there is no address on the collar and he's been coming every night and I see him running around during the day. The cat looks like he is getting bigger and I was thinking of cutting his collar off so that he doesn't choke, it's already a little snug looking. Should I do this since he is not my cat? or should I just try to find a way to loosen it? No one has responded to a flyer I put by the mailboxes.

I have a little kitten about 12 weeks old. She's really weak and tired today. She just lays down in the middle of the floor totally limp. We thought she was dead, but she was still breathing and her eyes were open, just totally limp. She walks around a bit, then just goes limp until someone moves her. Her nose is pale white, she's not purring like she usually does, she's totally limp in your hands, and she was sneezing a lot earlier today. I think I'm going to call the vet, but does anyone know what else I should do?

I swore I would never do this, but these cats are tearing up everything. My husband wants to get rid of them if we don't get them declawed. After my mom got her cat declawed, the cat started hiding from everyone. He is 6 now and still is very frighty over everyone. Any advice?
