What's better, or what are the pros and cons of each female and male. I heard that males tend to go away and not return for days.

Depends on how you raise them. I know this is not the answer you want to hear, but cats are extremely individual. Once I would have said "female" is the best, then I got my male black cat Buddy and I wouldn't take a million dollars for him, he has the most personality of any cat I've ever had. Regardless of which you get, the best pet is the one who gets the most attention and affection from you. You will know the right one (whether female or male) when you go to the shelter and the kitty and you bond. Once they are secure with you, they are the most affectionate and lovable of all pets. Plus, if you train them right, elimination is NOT an issue, nor is roaming (if you get them fixed young and if you call them in at night.) Happy hunting!

Completely my opinion, but I would suggest getting a male cat. I have a 6 month old male, and he's extremely sweet and even-tempered. I'm sure lots of females are nice as well, but I hear that they tend to be moody at times, or aren't as predictable or social as males. This could be a gross generalization though, because even though my male is really sweet, he isn't what you call a "lap-cat." He's really active, loves to show off, but wants attention most of the time. This could be due to his age, however, so just consider all of these factors before making your decision. In the end, it really depends on which cat you bond more with, be it female or male.

A male cat if neutered before starting to spray will usually not develop the habit. Male cats are more needy and want lots of attention. If neutered they don't roam
Female cats generally don't spray, but they can. A female, spayed of course, is more independant but usually not as needy.
One is not better than the other, it depends on what suits you.

many human beings tend to locate male cats to be extra affectionate, yet i be attentive to three lady cats who're the biggest lovebugs ever. If the cat has been spayed or neutered, then the cat's gender does not play a super place. The cat's very own unique character will confirm how good of a puppy it will make. Incidently, once you're attempting to undertake an extremely affectionate or laid-lower back cat, i might propose adopting an person cat. at first, the character is extra properly stepped forward and set than this is in a kitten, so which you're plenty extra possibly to have the ability to tell how affectionate and ordinary going the cat would be in the previous you undertake it. Secondly, nonetheless kittens are gorgeous, they are somewhat energetic and lively. Kittens oftentimes do no longer prefer to provide up long adequate for a great cuddle until they are exhausted and in a position to drop. person cats tend to be extra laid lower back and not somewhat as lively, and extra prepared to curve up on your lap for some high quality petting time. And third, i will inform you from working interior the puppy employer, all of us needs kittens. consequently, there are a number of magnificent person cats who on no account locate properties, with the aid of fact of their age. and customarily those cats are purely a pair years previous, meaning they could have 15+ years to spend with somebody who's prepared to grant them a wager. I accompanied certainly one of my cats while she replaced into 2, and he or she is truthfully magnificent. She gets alongside super with my different 2 cats, is somewhat laid lower back, and he or she sleeps snuggled up with me along with her head against my cheek each and every night. i could no longer ask for extra! i desire this suggestion is valuable. good luck!

There's no hard and fast rule, but some generalities that I've observed:
Males are more likely to be sociable with people they don't know well.
Males (even fixed) are more likely to wander the neighborhood.
Females are more likely to stay near home.
Males are more likely to sit in your lap; but both are likely to sleep with you.
You can't count on these generalizations at all, though. You should observe the cats or kittens you are considering, and/or ask about their temperaments before you get the cat, if you can.

I likes males . I think it is because they tend to be bigger. AS for running they do , they can disappear for days. I find that keeping them indoors always .They tend to live longer lives and stay healthier. Some people consider this cruel and against their nature , but my cats are happy.

First off, all cats are bad for me because I don't like cats.
Then, the behaviour of cats depends on several factors beyond their gender. It also depends how you will classify a cat as a good cat. In general, I think tomcats are worse than their female counterparts due to their BAD nature.

It is only un-neutered males that roam. If you are going to have your cat desexed then the gender is pretty irrelevant, and individual personality or breed characteristics make more of a difference.
