A cat can not digest it. Hopefully it will pass but there is a chance it could cause an obstruction and that can be a serious situtation. If you do not see it in 2 or 3 days you need to take your cat to your vet to check for an obstruction. Hope this helps.

Hopefully it passes through if they do eat it. My cat has a fetish for weird this to eat. She eats string, hair ties even a small flower ribbon once. I called the vet and they suggested I bring her in to check her out. Needless to say she has done it several times since then and luckily she has been passing them in here litter box when she goes to the bathroom. I am not sure about a hard object, hopefully it is small. I would check my cats belly to make sure it doesn't hurt. But i usually know she has eaten something if she eats and then vomits it back up or stops eating all together. Hope this helps.
