Try getting used to your cat. This is what they used to do with people back in the B.C. and early A.D. times. Find out what kind of cat you have and name it. For instance, a happy baby would be Joy. Or you could name it according to its physical features. Like Fluffy-gray-striped cat. (I took the least imaginative so you can have fun with that.) You can always name it after your hero, or someone you love, or a town where you used to live. There's your favorite song, band, book, movie, or play. Then there's always the option of pulling random letters from the alphabet and putting them together. (phisgreee) ^_^

Sounds cute! You could call him Puff since he's very fluffy. His stripes sound sort of like a zebra so maybe Zebra? Not sure if that's a good name for a cat though.

I would spend a couple of days trying to decide on a name. I had several cats growing up. Frizbee because she slept in my frisby. Bubble gum because she liked to lick bubblegum. Freckles because she was a Tortie. Thomas. Just seemed to fit. Kat Rat was skinny and pastel orange. Looked like a rat on steroids. Sampson seemed to fit. And Momma Kitty obvious there.

You don't have to name him right away, call him kitty until you get a feel for his personality. I like Dusty, since you said he is gray, or Oscar, Felix, Fritz, and Tommy are all popular cat names.

He sounds like an Otis, an Oliver, or a Reggie.

But if it were me, I'd totally name him grapefruit. I wanted to name my kitten that, but my mom was like 'C'mon, spare the poor thing some embarassment.'
