(^ that's a angel if u didn't know... and I was kidding about the ligers eating tia's -- are there really tigerlion's now? I didn't know. How very interesting; our scientists are focusing more of creating freakily-named creatures that look more like comic-book imaginary monsters than animals, rather than focusing on what matters - like Global Warming! lol

Ligers are a HUGE cross breed between a male Lion and a female Tiger.

It turns out that in TIgers the gene for limiting growth is in the male and in Lions it is in the female, wo when you do this particular cross, there is no growth limit.

The Ligers are still growing. No body knows how big they will get. They are now around 1000 lbs. They eat HUGE amounts of meat. When you have a 1000 lb cat, you feed them what ever they want when they want.

Actually, if you were to look at 50lbs of meat, it would not be a lot. Further, most large carnivores (and most locations that house them) feed on a gorge/fast model. This means they eat a big meal and then skip a day or two. This is the natural way for big cats to eat and better for their digestion. Remember that meat is mostly water and water weights 8lbs for every gallon which is exceedingly heavy and a liger is a big animal.

Seriously, though, they eat the same things other big cats eat - other animals, or parts thereof. Since all ligers we know of live in captivity, they have a diet formulated for them by their keepers. Contact a zoo or other place that has one and ask them if you need specifics.
