Yesterday morning I checked in my 4 month old kitten for neutering. I left him with his cuddle blanket and favorite toy.
When I arrived later that day, I saw him in the cage, in which they kept him after the surgery. There was no blanket or toy in sight... apparently they forgot to place them with him even though i specifically asked them to...When I picked him up his rear and legs were covered with his faeces. He is very clean kitten and would never ever go outside his litter box, let alone sleep in his own poop. his cage didnt have a food or water bowl or even a litter box....

I also noticed that one of his nails had some dried blood, apparently someone cut his nail way too deep into his pink tissue, where you are not supposed to cut.
Should I be looking into a different vet clinic?

I want to get a kitten. But in a few months I'll be starting school and I'll be working too so I don't know if I should get one.

I read that if you aren't going to be around a lot you should get two so they have company.

What do you think? Should I get none? 1? 2?

In my yard, a neighbor's handsome large tabby patiently, diligently courted our Fe. tabby for 6 months. He wooed her by letting her eat his tuna (which we put out for him), fought off all her suitors, just stared intently at her from 2 feet away, and so much more. She completely avoided/rejected him all that time . He finally won her over. They were inseparable for 10 days. Then, all of a sudden, he ignores her, walks past her (a bit to her dismay) even sneaks into our home 2,3X a day, eats her food, rejects her meow-advances (we catch him eating, and he scurries off). My beau and I think he just wanted sex and food. He looks like a playboy too!!

I have tried changing her food (dry), and the only thing that seems to help is the steroid shot, but they say that can cause cancer. Anybody have any Ideas? She is like 2 years old, and is a little different like she has the sweetest temperament, and is a little clumsy.

Mama just had a litter three weeks ago, little Tiger was the first to arrive. Tiger seemed to be the runt of the group and had trouble with one eye. I helped her eye along with washing it with warm water to unstick it. I finnaly got all the gunk out and I thought she was going to survive. Last night I got home and she seemed to be fine, very playful and then an hour later, she began to have trouble walking and staying up. SHe seemed very weak, I knew something was wrong. I took her to the emergency vet right away and they said she needed a blood transfusion. Well, as I mentioned before, she died and I am very sad. However, now I am concerned that Momma keeps looking for Tiger and is now hissing at her other babies. She has been a good mother, other babies seem fine and Vet gave me flea meds, but my concern now is that Momma seems to be rejecting them now. What do I do?

I have a cat she is almost a year old. Recently she started peeing on our laundry basket- with clean clothes in it! Now she is peeing on the floor and our house smells like cat pee, ewww! Why is she doing this, and how can I get her to stop?

p.s We clean her litter box everyday, and she has been fixed.

Thank you.

What is your favorite breed of cat? I am interested to know what kinds of cats people outside of my town and family like and/or have.

My two favorite breeds of cats are:
American calico bob-tail long hair

(^ lol i know it is a long breed but i have it, AND I LOVE HER
TO DEATH!, she is long hair because i am allergic to cats but long haired cats dont have dander)

and second

Egyptian Mau's
I think they are one of the coolest animals and have a very cool backround. They are also very cool because of the various colors they come in and the patterns they have in their fur.

what are you favorites??

my cat was fixed about 3weeks ago (female) she was in shock and very scared now she’s acting fine and all but i didn’t go back in 10days to the clinic to remove the stitches ( like the doctor said ) because i didn’t want here to panic and thought it would dissolve by it self. but the stitches got worst. nothing has dissolved and the stomach became brown and it stinks too. i am very worried and don’t know if i should take her back to the vet ( he looks healthy she plays eats goes to the bathroom and all ) what should I do???

I have two cats but have not had the other one tested. I normally feed them half a cup of food (total) in the morning and half a cup when I get home. I also feed them half a can each of wet food which I've dropped to a quarter can each (the very small cans). I used to allow them to free feed but stopped about 6 months ago. They are 15 and 17lbs. The 17lb one is the one in question. Honestly, he doesn't look really fat, he's a very long cat. Ok, nothing else I can think of.

My cat has fleas and they are all through the house are there any methods to getting rid of them whithout buying expensive shampoos or bombs?

2007-09-12 06:38:16 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous

My 5 month old kitten is a completely indoor cat. About a month ago he got outside and got fleas. Since then we have given him two flea baths, MULTIPLE dustings with flea powder and a Hartz gel treatment. Thus right now, he still has a couple fleas. Everything we use on him and our carpet says it kills fleas and larvae plus eggs and the shampoo says it keeps flea eggs from hatching for a month, which is pretty much what the gel treatment says too. I am really not prepared for this ongoing epidemic right now and I don't think it's fair to the cat to keep him locked away from my kids and their toys and also not fair to keep this problem around my kids. I don't have the money at this moment to get something like advantix and even if I did, at this point I don't know if it would work given everything else we've done.

My cat has been suffering for over two years now. He had a tumor behind his eye that made his eye swell up and the side of his face...we had his eye removed and we thought we got the tumor out, but its back again and BIGGER then ever. My dad insists that the cat is not in any pain, but everytime I look at him i know he is hurting horribly. The tumor has made the side of his head bulge out at least 3 inches, and it is now creeping over to the other eye. I want to put my cat down so he won't be in pain anymore(we aren't giving him any medicine at all, and the vet said there is nothing else they can do), but my dad will not let me. He keeps telling me that Tumors don't hurt that cat, and that he wants him to die a peaceful death. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me prove that this tumor is putting my cat in a lot of pain, so I can help him stop stuffering. I normally wouldn't want to put my cat down, but if you saw him you would understand.

What i'm asking for is Proof that tumors hurt cats.

My cat's favorite toy is a bright green plastic fly swatter, she kicks it and bites it and has a great time playing with it. She has lots of other toys but this one is her favorite.

I can't think of another solution. My younger cat Xander is is being mean to the older cat Izzy. Izzy won't come out of my bedroom unless i am too now and he won't go near Xander, because Xander attacks him whenever he can. X is neutered and i thought that would calm him down, but it hasn't. Now I'm afraid I'm out of options and have to find Xander a new home. I'm hoping someone here might have another idea.

i don't know what sex to choose, male or female? which one would be easier to look after? people have told me male kittens spray everywhere to mark there territory and females don't? other than that what else would be a better advantage of picking one sex over the other?
