my cat was fixed about 3weeks ago (female) she was in shock and very scared now she’s acting fine and all but i didn’t go back in 10days to the clinic to remove the stitches ( like the doctor said ) because i didn’t want here to panic and thought it would dissolve by it self. but the stitches got worst. nothing has dissolved and the stomach became brown and it stinks too. i am very worried and don’t know if i should take her back to the vet ( he looks healthy she plays eats goes to the bathroom and all ) what should I do???

oh my gosh.. take her to the dr.. not all stitches dissolve. she could have a serious infection. call the dr and ask what you should do or jus take her in to have it all checked. she will probly need medicine to heal the infection now.

I will shout this from the rooftops until someone gets it.

Animals HIDE their physical problems until they cannot or they are too severe. It's a natural defense...in the wild an injured animal equals an easy target for another animal to pick off of. Just because she continues to eat, drink, defecate, etc doesn't mean all is well.

You as the owner must see through this...you must look for the small changes in behavior, or in this cause, the obviously infected wound on your animal.

Get it taken care of, your cat will appreciate this more than you guarding it from the 'stress' of the vet visit. Go in with confidence that all is ok and your cat will pick up on that.

It's obvious you love your cat. Take it to a vet. Cats are wonderful healers and she should recover well with care.

well if ur vet told u to come back to take the stitches out it means he didnt put the dissolving ones in. u need to take her back to the vet and get those stitches out. eventually what will happen is that the skin will grow so much around the stitches that it will be difficult and painful for the cat if the and when the vet takes them out. and if the stomach is brown and smelly then there is a chance that there is an infection in there. so u really need to take ur cat to the vet PRONTO

Your cat has an infected incision and needs antibiotics asap. She also needs the expertise of a vet to attend to the infected tissue surrounding the wound. Please help her and get her back to the vet. She is most likely suffering in some serious pain.

TAKE THAT CAT TO THE VET TODAY!

Obviously they are not disolvable stiches and there is an infection. Your cat is in pain and could die. Your reason for not bringing your cat back is way stupid and it sounds like you were just lazy.

You have to get her to the vet as soon as you can. She'll eventually recover from the stress but this is a health issue that cannot be ignored.

get her to the vet now!!! what is wrong with you that you would let her get an infection like that?!?! She can get blood poisoning, infected intestines and a myriad of other deadly conditions from this. GET HER IN NOW!!! she needs antibiotics and you will be lucky if it is not worse than that.
