the day after i went to Brasil to visit my cousins, my mom found him at the street curve right next to our house dead. which was a month ago. He was like family and lived with us for 7 years. im 13 and it was the first time i had a cat. we buried him in front of our house and all of a sudden my grandmas cats started walking slowly not wanting to go outside and feeling lonely. i need to know how i can replace him even though we know that nothing can replace him. should we have another cat or should we just leave it alone.

P.S my cat died where he walks everyday and didnt seem like he got ran over by a car. although blood was falling out of his mouth. i hope it wasnt animal cruelty cuz i just HATE that kind of thing.

I have a young 4 year old cat who has had ongoing kidney problems and stayed many times in the animal hospital. His last visit the vet said he's done all he can and to just take him home and comfort him till the end...as he is experiencing no pain (we hope and pray this is true), he is very dopey though, like he was drugged.
He drinks water continuously but will eat nothing. The vet keeps saying it is important to get him to eat..and he 'may' have a chance.(though slim). We have tried everything...all his favorites..he wont touch anything.
Does anyone had a similar situation and have any suggestions to get him to eat? He is a beautiful loving cat and we hate to give up on him.
Can anyone help us?? The whole family can't stop crying over losing him.

that hateful thing...he knows he is pretty...he knows i want to hug him cause he is soooo pretty and fluffy...but our relationship, totally on his terms and conditions...he uses me in order to get to sleep on my bed...for the past two weeks he has basically ignored my presence, unless it was feeding time...and i was dealing with it...this morning i was just doing what he wanted, and move pass him when he decided to be nice to me...and we hugged for almost 10 minutes (i was looking at the clock)...it was so nice

why is my cat controlling me? why do i keep falling for his tricks? i think they are alien who are taking over

is your cat like that as well?

My cat is next door. I vacuumed and hid the litter box and her toys and her bed. I don't want my friend to get the sniffles. So is there anything else I should do?

I have been fostering 3 newborn kittens for the past 5 days. They are about a week old and are starting to open their eyes. I have been stimulating them to defecate but they have not been defecating. It's been 3-4 days and I'm worried. CAn I give them lactulose solution? How much do I have to give and how often? I feed them Animalac Plus. Do I have to make any changes to the formula? for example, add more water?

My best friend has 2 cats (One is 2 years old and the other is about 5 months old) and is currently battling fleas in her house. I have done a lot of research for her on how to get rid of them. One thing she has decided to try was the dish with a little bit of water and a little bit of dish soap under a light (to attract the fleas). However, she is worried that her cats might drink it and we don't want them to get sick. Does anybody know how likely that is? Or are we just worrying too much?

Okay, after talking extensively with my vet and well just doing alot of research online, I have thought of putting both of my babies on a raw meat diet, that is supplemented by well supplements made for cats. can those who have done the switch, tell me how their cats are faring now. Also can those who poo-poo the idea, tell me why.

I have made up my minds but I just want to hear from the general public and those who work with the animals about this.

Jazzmine is about a year old now, and bringing her into our home as a young kitten resulted in the death of our male cat. (worms, he wouldnt take the treatment, and he was old) She seems to be in heat every single day since she was 6 months old, and "marks her territory" often, including people. How can I stop her from doing this. We have added her baby brother and sister, who's now about 3 months old, and are going to get all of them fixed before the end of this month. Will she continue doing this forever????

They are both 3 weeks old and playful. One is a boy and the other is a girl.

She is all black except a little bit of white on her chest and a little white on all of her feet. She is also VERY fluffy and VERY small. Right now she has light blue eyes.

He is mainly gray with a good amount of white on his tummy and a good amount of white on all of his paws. His fur is short and he is a normal size. His eyes are also a light blue.

I have a kitty who I happen to be allergic to but I love animals and my girlfriend loves him to (shes not allergic) so I need to know what I can do such as medicines and sprays. I use benadryl and it works great, problem is it makes me really drowsy, too drowsy to function! I was thinking of getting that allergen febreeze reducer but its more for air born allergy's. I am using a lint roller to pick up his hairs, everything I'm doing is good. But I just need some alternatives. Any medicines (non prescription is preferable but if not ok) Sprays (such as the febreeze) and maybe some cream (for itches) Thanks, serious answers please to people who know verified solutions.

I have a 1 yr old male cat and my step sister needs to find a home for her 1yr old male. My cat is very territorial and I am worried that they will never get along. The other cat is very easy going and never gets upset.

He is about a year old, neutered, and playful and loving. He eats a lot, poops a lot (once every day and sometimes twice), but his stomach is hard ALL THE TIME! He has been treated for Guiardia twice and his stomach has been x-rayed once. They told me that his stomach was hard at the time because it was full of gas. Could it just be hard a lot now because of gas? He doesn't seem to be upset when I squeeze it. What do you guys think could be the problem? I thought maybe IBS, but he does not vomit at all and really never has diarrhea, except when I treated him for guiardia.

My grandmas cat just passed away from diabeites (wich i heard is caused by obeasity) so now im worried for my cats health.
My cat is 41/2 years old and weighs 13lbs.
After her kitten stage i moved into a studio apartment so she didnt have much room to excercise, she ate all the time and just slept.
well I have been living in a house for a while now and she gets to excercise and I play with her often but she is not loosing any weight. I feed her the reccomended ammount on the back of the cat food bag. She eats the purina natural cat chow in the green bag. see link for details.
what can i change her food to so she can loose weight with out feeling hungary all the time?
she does pretty good with food changes so im not too worried about her liking the food im just worried about her feeling hungary.

anyone have some suggestions?
I am looking for something that works good and does not cost too much.
thanks!

Ok it is blazing hot and I am going to get an Italian ice for myself. Then I was thinking that it would be nice for the kitties to have a treat, so I'm wondering if it would be ok to get a little tiny one for them to share. Since it is only water and flavor, it should be ok right? Provided it is a flavor that cats are ok to eat (i.e. not chocolate and whatnot). Whaddya think?

My oldest cat is nine years old, and well he has problems with keeping food down. I have taken him to the vet to check for any underlaying problems and there are none. I have switch brands of food and still he throws up food on a regular basis. Is there anything that might help the cat keep food down. I also give him special food that is made for sensitive stomachs, and it doesn't help. I also don't buy the bargain brands of supermarket pet food. What does anyone that gives their cat at this stage when nothing helps and the sensitive stomach foods cause more problems to him throwing up.

I have a new burberry carpet and she is addicted to pulling up the loops in the carpet. She loves string! I have given her 2 sistic posts, as well several toys to play with to deter her. I have used a spray bottle when she is in the act but she's has already done the damage (usually done when i'm sleeping near sunrise). I've sprayed the carpet with Pet Organics"No Scratch" from Petco, but the cat still insists on the pulling up the carpet. I've also yelled "NO" when she is lowering her head to start the act of pulling up the carpet, but doesn't work either. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

1 week ago, we were given a week old kitten (10 oz.) to foster. I was syringe feeding him 30+ mLs a day, and he was doing great. Yesterday morning, I woke up to his crying around 8 am and I fed him 5 mLs. He seemed fine and was still hungry (nibbling on my arm), but I put him in his carrier (my horrible mistake). Around 12, I came back into the room to check on him. He normally mewed when hungry, but he didn't. I discovered he was very weak. I tried to get him to swallow warm KMR, and he refused it mostly. I got maybe 8 mLs in, I got him to urinate, and I tried warming him up near our fireplace. He sounded wheezy, like he was struggling to breathe. I ran him to the vet, but he passed on.

I grew attached quickly, and this was a shock. It happened so fast. I hate myself for not feeding him more in the morning. I feel guilty and disgusted; I can't stop crying. The vet said he sounded like he had fluid in his lungs (pneumonia/ inhaled KMR). Your opinion, please?
