I had to drive from VA to TX with 4 cats and it really wasn't bad at all.
I got this tip from my vet...
There's about a 99% chance that they will not want any food or water at all while moving in the car. So, I was told to give it to them only when you've finished driving for a while. This limits the chance for stressed out cats to have accidents coming from both ends.
So, what I did was feed them a couple treats in the car..which they rarely ate and saved feeding time for the hotel room. And the disposable litter box was a lifesaver too...6.00 at petsmart.
Good Luck!

The preferred solution, is to fly, with him in the cabin.
Since it's in a truck, he will be very stressed. Ensure that he has food and water available at all times (There are bowls that hang on the front of the carrier) Make sure the carrier is large enough to hold a small litter box as well.
I would talk to your vet to see if they want to prescribe a mild sedative.
At night, I recommend setting him up in the bathroom with a nice bed (not in the cage where he may feel trapped), food, water, and his box. This will ensure that he doesn't run from the room
I would also recommend getting him a collar with a name tag for the journey, just in case.
Also pack a bag for the cat, including extra food, water bottles, towels, antiseptic spray/ointment, and his favorite toy.
Talk to your vet just to be sure.

I would put her in a cat carrier during the day and let her run and play at night. Be sure she has water and food. I would also "sneak" her into the hotels at night unless they are pet friendly...lol
She should be fine. When I travel with my cat, I take her out during the drive and play a bit with her as long as I'm not driving...she'll sit in my lap and sleep. lol

All the answers are fine. I promise you that your kitten will be just fine. I had a bunch of kids each with their own animal and we all went coast to coast twice a year. (I'm actually amazed that they survived the kids, but we never had a single death except from old age.)

get a pet mate pet carrier. they will sleep in them while you drive and in the motels. Keep a small litter box and get a harness and leash to give your cat exercise when you stop at rest areas.
