No,it's not too late.In fact,my vet prefers to wait until a male kitten is 8 months old,so their urethra can grow, which might help prevent a bladder blockage should the cat develop stones, a very common problem in male kitties. It's not too late, and he probably won't be a sprayer.I have 7 neutered male cats and none of them are sprayers.

Hello, glad you asked. Six months is the recommended age to have cats 'fixed', male cats are neutered and female cats are spayed. A bit later than six months is not a big problem, however the longer you wait to neuter your cat, the more likely the spraying habits will develop in males, and females can go into heat cycles. If these unwanted behaviors have started, they usually stop after the cat is fixed. A cat is never too old to be fixed, but internal problems can develop in cats and dogs that aren't. Similar to humans, some female cats are susceptible to ovarian cysts that can turn into cancer, and male cats can develop enlarged testicles that also can lead to cancer. All in all, it's much healthier for the animal if you get it fixed. Hope this helps you out!

It's never too late to neuter. BUt if you're talking about not wanting it to spray... if it hasn't allready developed the habit, then if you fix it ASAP (before it does) then you should be fine, no sprayer.

6 months is usually the earliest most vets will neuter. So any age above that is fine to do the surgery. It's better to get it done before he starts spraying, better for you and him.

It's never too late to neuter them. But the earlier the better the chance that they won't spray.
