He is about a year old, neutered, and playful and loving. He eats a lot, poops a lot (once every day and sometimes twice), but his stomach is hard ALL THE TIME! He has been treated for Guiardia twice and his stomach has been x-rayed once. They told me that his stomach was hard at the time because it was full of gas. Could it just be hard a lot now because of gas? He doesn't seem to be upset when I squeeze it. What do you guys think could be the problem? I thought maybe IBS, but he does not vomit at all and really never has diarrhea, except when I treated him for guiardia.

Hi there...gas can cause distension of the stomach (bloat/hardness). The hardness could be caused by other feline ailments such as parasites (there are many), feline diseases/disorders (e.g. tumours, cancer, etc.). It may be helpful to ring another vet for a second opinion if you would like to be certain. If it is a tumour/cancer it's best to catch this early or it could become life-threatening later.
