I have a 23 month old cat and she is normally very quiet but loves attention and isnt a huge fan of being held but if you pick her up she just goes with the flow. She is still eating and drinking fine but ever since we got back from camping on sunday she has been sleeping in weird (hiding) place, and when someone picks her up she squeels pretty loud. Like I said she IS eating and drinking fine. Has anyone experienced this?

Is it insane to want to put my cat to sleep rather than give her to a shelter that will keep her caged up or that will give her to a new owner that will treat her bad or abandon her? She is healthy but insane and pukes constatnly and is ruining our house. But I feel bad imagining her being caged up, abused or left on her own. If I gave her up I would always wonder what was happening to her. If I put her to sleep, I would actually feel less guilty.

My very elderly cat died today, and im having a hard time getting over it. Whats makes me upset the most is that she died at the vets (from a heart attack becuase of the stress of a blood test) and i wasnt there. She died on a cold, hard wooden table with a stranger and not in her owner's loving arms. It couldnt of been peaceful. What annoys me also is that i didnt take her to the vets when she first started to show syptoms of concern. Maybe if I had been more prompt, she would still be here? The vet said that in the weeks/days leading up to her death she had been in a great deal of pain, and that just makes me even more upset. She died in pain. I dont know how to get over her death, im hysterical. How do I get used to not having her in my daily life? She a family cat so ive known her since I was born.
I was thinking of getting another cat or perhaps a dog to fill the gap. I feel very guilty and frustrated about how she died. Please advise me on what to do and how to get through this

last year, i noticed a stray cat digging a hole at the corner of my house, leaving droppings there. well, i filled in the hole and he hasn't been back. until the past few weeks!! i noticed not only this stray cat, but the neighbors as well, crawling under my house. well, above where they are crawling under is my living room. NOW my living room smells like cat urine and I can't take it!! what do i do? I can't even get someone to crawl under the house to clean that area out because the opening is so small. And i've blocked this area off but they're digging more holes to get under the house. how do i get rid of these cats and the awful smell in my living room? and the worse part about it is, that i am severly allergic to cats! i wake up with puffy eyes and wheezes almost every morning!

I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before? ..We just got a new cat from the shelter 2 weeks ago..I took her *the old one* to the vet today so they could observe her all day and take urine samples..She was de-wormed last month, and last night I noticed a few worms..The vet said she should be on advantage because she got the worms from fleas..I will be purchasing that when I go to pick her up tonight.. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem, with the frequent peeing..they also said it could be behavioral with her trying to ""re-mark"" her box because of the new cat coming in.

Has anyone else ever heard or such a thing?

I had never heard of such a thing...wouldn't it be harmful to the cat to do such a thing?

My friend has a male cat, and she wants to get a new kitten. Is it better, in the long run, to get a female or a male one? Which one will be better company? They'll both be neutered.

Well im at my limit for fosters and kittens I am over run with them and its 2007 you'd think there would be less pregnant cats out there. Guess not. My other foster Noodles and her pasta kittens are doing well, and now I got a new female in yesterday morning, her name is Lighting. My nephew named her since she is black with a bolt of white down her face and then it continues to her front leg to her paw. She gave birth last night to 4 kittens. One has a neurological issue but we are going to try to save him too.

12 week old kitten continues to bite. Nothing I have tried works. She is getting big and strong so her bites really hurt. I don't know how to get her to stop. She has her sweet moments (when she's tired), but not often enough. Spraying her with water doesn't work. Please help!

I have an older cat, I would say 8 or 9 years old and a younger cat, which is a year old. My oldest is a male and the youngest is a female. They're always playing together and always doing this and that, best friends if you will. Well, I was just curious why my oldest cat bites the younger ones neck? She doesnt seem to mind it, in fact, she looks as though she's enjoying it. They're both 'fixed', so Im not exactly sure what it could be. She just lays there and let's him.. no tryin to push him as though they're playing or anything.

I have just found out that my purebred Sib has heart disease. After reading up on this I note that life expectancy is 3 years. He is the love of my life and I want to make sure that the 3 years he has is filled with care and happiness. He is 8 months old. I am distressed at this diagnosis but I want to make sure that I can do everything to help him have a fulfilled life. Does anyone have anything to advise me on this terrible situation?

My current roommate and I bought cats the same day and the cats have lived together since they were brought home, but I plan to move out soon and hadn't realized that the cats had bonded so much so quickly. Is there a way to separate them when I move that wouldn't result in either cat dying or becoming unproductive from loneliness?

Hi,
I want to find alternative litter besides clay. I notice that whenever my cat starts digging, he's sniffing in the dust and his nose gets this black things that I have to finger out every time he's sleeping.

I want litter that does the same job as clay but much safer and friendly on his nostrils.

Thanks :)

if you read my last question iwas pretty much flamed. with mroe details. i want to have other ways to confrot him. to be on the safe side, i called the vet. i have an appointment later. much to my expense. i seriously have no money though from my last visit to the vet. and i have no transportation. the closest is a good 40 minute walk.

i'm planning to take the bus.
but any ideas on how to comfort him. unfortunetly i dont have a carrier to take him there with.

what should i do?
dont flame me. i have my responsibilities too. i am responsible for this kitten. he just manages to hurt himself a lot.
next time someone tells me to surrender him, i'll lose it
