I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before? ..We just got a new cat from the shelter 2 weeks ago..I took her *the old one* to the vet today so they could observe her all day and take urine samples..She was de-wormed last month, and last night I noticed a few worms..The vet said she should be on advantage because she got the worms from fleas..I will be purchasing that when I go to pick her up tonight.. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem, with the frequent peeing..they also said it could be behavioral with her trying to ""re-mark"" her box because of the new cat coming in.

She IS at the vet right now..I wouldn't take any chances with my baby..I called them and made sure that they are going to check her for a UTI..they said they are going to.

I had a cat do this before and it was because he had crystals that formed in his bladder from the food we were feeding him. The crystals were blocking the flow of urine. I would get your cat tested for specific urinary problems if I were you.

It is possible that your cat is marking her territory. However, you might want to ask for the results of her urine samples.

Not to scare you, but one of my cats did this right before she was diagnose with kidney problems. We had to put her to sleep in the end.

Regardless, I would keep close tabs on her. If she continues to do this, you may need to go see a another vet to get a second opinion.

It may not be anything more than a bladder infection, but it may be crystals and if it is crystals, get your cat to the vet now you don't have time to waste. If you have to, get a second opion from another vet. I almost lost my cat because of it. watch for blood in the cats urine(you'll know if theres blood you will see it)

get to the vet quickly. if you can't right away- put a tissue in the litter pan- when the cat pees next and the tissue is pink- there is an infection or blockage.

It sounds to me like the cat may have a bladder infection. This would cause her to constantly feel like she has to pee, even when her bladder isn't full.

Did they check your cat for a UTI? That could be causing it.
