I ran across this website that shows cats that have been decorated with paints or dyes - website below.

Has anyone else ever heard or such a thing?

I had never heard of such a thing...wouldn't it be harmful to the cat to do such a thing?

I think it's disgusting and abusive. I hate forcing human "characteristics" on animals

Personally I think this would be mean to the cat. My cats have always gotten mad when they have had to redo thier fur because of a bath. But to dye them...they lick themselves all the time, all that chemicals and such would be awful for them Im sure.

I have heard of this being popular among celebrities. I personally think it would be not natural and border line cruel to do this to an animal. So hopefully this fad doesn't catch on.

If the paint is just at the tips of the hair, it shouldn't hurt the cat. Paint on the skin would inhibit the skin's ability to breathe and that would be high risk to the cat.

Cats are VERY sensitive to what is put on their skin and fur, so you have to be very careful what you use to paint the cat.

I have seen some of those photos before. The artists were very creative.

Those pictures aren't real. They are photoshopped. Some guy printed a book with those pictures, but it was a hoax.
