I have a 23 month old cat and she is normally very quiet but loves attention and isnt a huge fan of being held but if you pick her up she just goes with the flow. She is still eating and drinking fine but ever since we got back from camping on sunday she has been sleeping in weird (hiding) place, and when someone picks her up she squeels pretty loud. Like I said she IS eating and drinking fine. Has anyone experienced this?

Take time to do a little physical exam in her body... Get yout cat to a calm place, let her be confortable and start looking with attention. Search for anything strange... start examinating her paws, see if there is anything betweve her toes, look gently inside her ears... if you don't find anything, start pressing your fingers gently on her stomach... try to notice if she feels pain when you press gently. Also, try to move her legs, always gently and slow. If you notice any sign of pain or disconfort, get her to a vet.

She's probably just pissy b/c you were gone over the weekend. Any cat I've ever had will do this. Pout when I get back, whine when I pick them up and act pitiful. It's an intended guilt trip. A cat I had actually peed in my mother's suitcase (many years ago) when we were going out of town somewhere. The first thing to learn about cats, they own you, you do as they say and do what they want you to do. Good luck. Mine acted this way this weekend. My husband was at work (working a normal schedule) and I was back and forth from the hospital (my dad was there with cancer & I live around the corner from the hospital). So I was in & out alot but I was there more than most weekends. They are dramatic animals. If your cat continues to act this way (for 1, 2 weeks or more) take her to the vet. Otherwise she's ok.

Hiding and sleeping is normal. Cats will hold grudges when their owners are away. Mine use to snub me for days whenever I would leave him overnight. The other part is what's scary to me. It is possible that she could have swallowed something that is now causing her discomfort. If she has something small lodged in the throat or stomach area this may not prevent her from eating and drinking but it can cause them pain if moved a certain way. Keep an eye on her and if she doesn't improve call the vet to see what they want to do. It's better to have them checked out than risk serious injury.

Get your vet to earnings him over - thyroid issues show up in aggression. Blood assessments will rule this out. If he's in soreness from a kidney an infection this will additionally make him jumpy and feisty, is he wetting in the homestead besides? Vet will verify his urine to evaluate his kidney function too. laptop virus and de-flea him - an infestation of the two might reason great temper swings and irritability. After this, if the vet says all is unquestionably bodily, see if there has been a metamorphosis in the recipe of his accepted nutrition - the nutrition agencies try this and a sparkling factor might set off an intolerance your cat is mushy to. attempt him on grain unfastened nutrition for in keeping with week or so and notice if he calms down. then you might desire to seek for modifications in his ecosystem - a nearby bullish Tom could be striking around making him scared to bypass out, or is in keeping with danger shifting into the homestead once you're out? stress might desire to be the reason and is so puzzling to pinpoint one single reason. He could be fairly distressed via your different cat - if he smells of the Vet's surgical treatment, your boy will possibly no longer in basic terms like the way he smells. He will possibly no longer in basic terms like the certainty your female chum is now taking your interest removed from him. attempt to pay some interest to him while your female chum is in the room, so he nevertheless feels specific. Be type to him, ignore approximately undesirable behaviour and reward the sturdy stuff, ultimately he will learn it fairly is extra handy to be superb, yet it may take some smart thinking on your area to help him by way of this. I even have had some fulfillment with Rescue treatment - it incredibly is a organic guidance, you could feed a drop to him an see if it facilitates.

No I haven't expierienced that yet but What I think is that your cat could be pregnant or maybe she just wants her sleep and is mad whenever someone might disturb her. Or it could be that she is in some sort of pain like a cat sunburn or something. Just go easy with her and if this ontinues longer than 3 weeks you might want to take to the vet.

Some kitties react like that to their people being gone for a while, then just returning. Cats are very much creatures of habit, and changes in their routines bother them.

That being said, does she seem to be in pain? Or- you probably saw to this already, but has your kitty been spayed? If not, she might be pregnant.

Good luck!

I would take her to the vet. Hiding is normal, but if her personality is different, something may be wrong, especially if she is squeeling.

Try gently touching her body in different parts and see if she is sensitve somewhere. She chould have hurt herself. Or she could just be upset with you for leaving.

how long were you gone? sometimes when you leave cats they feel abandoned and take it kinda hard, so just show it some extra attention, even if it doesn't want it and it will come around eventually.
