Cats do not have to be taught to go to the bathroom outside.
It is a natural instinct. Just open the door and let them out.

Many people have had to cope with changing the way their cat goes to the bathroom. Most cats do not have a great deal of difficulty when they are forced to adapt to a new setting A.K.A where they use the restroom. I believe although it is a little later in their life times it will not be a struggle but if it is you should start taking them out side on a regular basis but still allow them to do business inside until they are perfectly comfortable.
Hope this helps

If I were you, I would not let my cats roam the outside for at least 3 months. It will take them that long to get acclimated to their new surroundings. Use a couple of litter boxes in the meantime. If you have a screened in porch, let them go out on the porch and keep the boxes out there. You can buy a kitty door at the pet store and install it, so they can go out on the porch whenever they want.

You could also build a cat enclosure that is attached to the side of your house. Build it around a window so you can put a kitty door in the window for them. Look in Cat Fancy Magazine, they sell them in the back of it.

Your cats will live longer if you keep them inside all the time. Being outside exposes them to disease, abuse and possibly death. I have 6 cats, all indoor cats that are perfectly happy to be out on the screened in porch instead of in the yard.

Hi try placing the litter boxes in a small room like the bathroom after the cats have eaten place them in this small room and close the door. after a while let them out if they have left stuff in the boxes. As for teaching them to go outside either let them outside and watch them carefully )do this after they eat) for a while if they sniff the garden or leave some messes outside praise them alot and then let them in if you so choose. eventually over time you can teach the cats to let you know when you they want togo outside to the bathroom and they will let you know when they want back in. Best of luck to you and i'm sure your cats will be very happy to see you.

Feline behavior experts consistently recommend providing one litter box per cat, plus one. In other words, you should have four litterboxes in your home. Keep them very clean. If there is an accident on the carpet it is imperative that you clean the area with a product made to clean and deoderize cat urine. Please don't let your cats go outside. Indoor cats live much longer, healthier lives.

you just got them in a new place? DON"T LET THEM OUT! Seriously, they need to be inside the house for at least two weeks so they can learn where home is and get re oriented to a new place.

Per haps you could use a kitty box in the mean time?

i have a cat and she really likes going outside a lot so she does her business outside too.

but anyway you should put your cat outside but make sure that they won't go far since they are in a whole new place and might get lost.

hope i helped :]
