I just want to thank anyone with concern. my cat, amazingly, has made a 100% recovery from a vicious attack by my next door neighbors dog.He would not let me get anywhere near him after I brought him home immediatly after the attack.(before I was able to let him down from carrying him inside my house he was so freaked out he opened his mouth, turned his head 180 degrees and latched on to my forehead, literally. It was like a scene out of a horror movie. My girlfriend witnessed the whole scene and it totaly freaked her out. I did not in the least hold him accountable). He then hobbled under my bed where I could not get to him without hurting him or me even further. I ,to my surprise, could not locate any emergency mobile vet anywhere in the S.F.V. (So. Cal). I then monitered him frequently until I saw him finally drink, eat, and use his cat box succesfully. The dog had him by the neck when the neighbor beat hs dog with a broom stick until he let go.The dog was not lnjured,I also healed. WOW

I will not let my cats outside, I lost one over a year ago and now I will not let my other ones out. I just don't want to go through that loss again!! One is dying to get out lately, he even knows how to open the screen window by himself. I don't know what to do about that, and yes, they are all fixed!!

somebody i know gave me 4 small kittens that he found in his backyard to take care of. I have no experienceb but to me they seem to be 2 or 3 weeks. I went to nearby pet store and bought feeding bottle and milk. After one week on only milk, I thought they might need additional food supply, and their milk is so expensive. i bought soft food can from walmart written on in for kittens and cats. But my kittens didn't accept it. i thought i might need to smash it, and i did together with milk in the blender. They like it, but i have to give it to them with the bottle. I just enlarge its hole. Now i got tired of them. Too much work to feed them with feeding bottle around 5 or 6 times a day. How to let them leave the bottle and eat from their own bowl, as this will be much easier for me than feed one by one and the other 3 cried for food waiting for their turn. I tried with them, but they didn't accept and kept meow for food through the feeing bottle. Please advice! and help me! PLEASE

My kitten is 6 weeks old and she is very playful but she is constantly attacking/scratching and biting my legs and feet. During the night when I try to sleep she is clawing at my face and biting my face and body as well. I know this is normal because she is a kitten, but is there any way to curb the biting and scratching? Someone told me to get a spray bottle and put water in it and each time she bit me I should spray her with it, but I feel mean doing that. What do y'all recommend? I am taking her to the vet tomorrow for just a normal checkup. Thanks!!! :)

....when she left her Mother, but she suckles on our furry cushion like she's feeding from her Mother and tries to chew anything at all, mainly plastic and I am a bit worried as I have never seen this before in a cat. She was the runt of the litter and we also have her brother of them same litter.

Sensible answers only, thanks in advance!! xx

I heard as long as you use a smaller dose it doesn't matter whether it is for dogs or cats. Also I was told they only need a drop or two to protect them.

My cat Petey was born in October 1994, so that makes him about 13...is that considered old for cats? We adopted him when he was four and I love him so much. He sleeps more often and has a bit of arthritis in his right shoulder, but he's healthy. Still, I keep scaring myself and thinking "omg, omg, he's getting older. What if I only have one more year with him?" So how old is old for cats? Does it depend on certain types of cats? (He's a tabby...) How long are cat's lifespans usually if they are healthy?

I love my cat as if he is my son. My cat is sooo cute and adorable, I just can't help but kiss him everytime he cuddles with me. For those of you who own cats, how many times do you kiss your cat each day?

our 3yr old is spayed and wants to go out at night so i was wondering if thats normal because i keep on hearing how cats roam looking for a mate

we got her from spca and they told us she was spayed she is 3 yrs old and im just going by what they told us, would they have examined her or something, we are going to take her for chipping soon but i mean is the spca right? it was also listed that she is an indoor cat which turned out to be not true at all because she just wants to go out at night and went out and found her way back home

so do spayed cats go out at night too?

The fleas are only located on his head, around his eyes, around his mouth and such places.
And they are attached to his skin.
They are black and very visible.
Whats the best flea treatment I can buy from my local drug store/pharmacy.

The growth is on one of the toe pads. It grew out on the side of it and the color and texture is the same as the pad, but it is like a very tiny leaf with overlapping flaps. It's no thicker than 2mm and it is about 6-7 mm in length and about 5mm in width. What is it? It looks quite harmless. Can I wait and see before rushing to the vet?

We've had her and her sister a week and a half. So I guess they're 10 weeks old. Anyway we didn't have their usual food when we got them so we bought a less expensive brand and it didn't agree with either of them. One even started throwing up. Well the throwing up stopped but one still has "the runs" the vet said that her cultures came back negative. We've tried different brands and types of food and nothing seems to help. Anyone ever had this problem am I not giving it enough time with one brand?

She has had urine cultures & x-rays. It has yet to be determined origin of the disease. I hope feline infections don't hurt as bad as humans. Has anyone gone thru this with their little kitty?

my cat is Enre, about 3 yrs old, neutered, has all shots, history of upper respiratory infection (the viral type), shares his home with his two humans and two younger cats (not related to him, but they're brother & sister). not allowed outside, hasn't escaped recently. long-ish fluffy white hair (he looks like a turkish van), very large, somewhat overweight. usually VERY clean.

recently he has developed a sore on his chin. it's about the size of a dime (half his chin), all raw and blotchy red, but not hairless. it doesn't look like it's oozing, but a black "crust" keeps forming in the fur around and on it. I've seen him gingerly scratch it a few times, but not excessively. it seemed to just appear there about a week or so ago, hasn't gotten any better or worse. he's behaving normally. the past few days he's had a dirty nose & eyes (has black 'goobers' on them, kinda like on his chin).

what could it be?
i've tried to put antibiotic ointment on it, but he licks it off immediately!

So my husband and I are moving mid August from VA to OK? It is a 21 hour drive and we were planning to drive there with us, a newborn, and my two cats (who HATE the car). Now he is saying that we are going to fly bc it would be much easier. But I am worried about my cats. It is hot and I read that they just throw the animals around. I am so confused on what to do. WIll someone please advice me, I would appreciate it. My cats are HUGE babies and momma(me) babies at that!

I just put my cat down today due to renal failure that he has been battling for the last 5 months. I took him off the fluids a week and a half ago so he could have some time without having to go to the vet. He HATED treatment, and I just couldn't put him through it anymore. He was only 5 years old. I stayed with him the whole time. He was curled up with my other cat, his buddy, before we left. It was like they knew. He cried when I had to put him in the carrier. They had to sedate him first due to his aggressive nature. He freaked out when they put the needle in and he only got 2/3 of it. It was enough to make him gag and throw up. I gave him a bunch of ham before we left as his last treat. He loved ham but he threw it up, and it hurt to see him struggle to try and stand up. My mom got the tech and he came in and took Patches out of the carrier and laid him on the towel. I just kept kissing and petting him the whole time, telling him how much I loved him. Cried the whole time too.

Any opinions on BioSpot and what brand you would recommend for mosquito protection? (and fleas, ticks & worms of course).

My cat who is 9 months old has had diarrhea for the past month. The vet thought it was stress from the new puppy, also our puppy was diagnosed with coccidia so our cat was on medicine for both. Neither helped and I am not sure what else it could be, I just recently switched his food (slowly) to see if it would help and it hasn't? I know this can be very serious does anybody have any ideas?
