Any opinions on BioSpot and what brand you would recommend for mosquito protection? (and fleas, ticks & worms of course).

Nooo, not Biospot. Bad!!

Go with anything from a vets, and just stay away from anything from a shop - as well as being ineffective they are also frequently dangerous. The article posted by the first answerer is right about permethrin being deadly to cats, but leaves out the other thing about them not being a great flea treatment.

Frontline is the best flea and tick treatment - don't know about mozzies I'm afraid because I come from England where they aren't really a problem.

Revolution is not a tick preventative.

BioSpot is a Permethrin.

Should You Use a Permethrin Product on Your Dog?

If you are planning to use a permethrin product for flea control, weigh the low price against the resistance level of the fleas in your home. After some 20 years of permethrin use, these products are not reliable for flea control. If they work for you, terrific. If not, a better product is probably worth the extra money.

Absolutely do not use these products in cats or on a dog that regularly snuggles up to a cat! These products use far too high a concentration of permethrin for cats.

Permethrin products excel when it comes to tick control. You may want to use a prescription product for fleas and combine it with a permethrin product for ticks. Permethrin products are compatable with all the prescription topicals and orals.

They do not protect against mosquitos or worms. Dogs get worms from fleas, eat poop, or picking it up in their environment.

Revolution is good all-around preventative for fleas, ticks, and mosquitos. It covers all the life cycles of the flea and it is safe around cats and young animals.
