The growth is on one of the toe pads. It grew out on the side of it and the color and texture is the same as the pad, but it is like a very tiny leaf with overlapping flaps. It's no thicker than 2mm and it is about 6-7 mm in length and about 5mm in width. What is it? It looks quite harmless. Can I wait and see before rushing to the vet?

I have 9 cats, and only one of them has growths.. which shows that they're not contagious. the one who has growths is old, and only has three, but they haven't affected her being the fact that she's had then for about five years now. so just don't worry about it. it's part of the aging process

You really shouldn't wait to have it checked out. Growths in cats are not as common as those in dogs, and the ones they get tend to be more serious (higher incidence of cancers). I'm not saying your cat has cancer, but any bump on a cat should be looked at.

I have seen many cats and only one of them had growths, so it shows that they're not contagious
