last year, i noticed a stray cat digging a hole at the corner of my house, leaving droppings there. well, i filled in the hole and he hasn't been back. until the past few weeks!! i noticed not only this stray cat, but the neighbors as well, crawling under my house. well, above where they are crawling under is my living room. NOW my living room smells like cat urine and I can't take it!! what do i do? I can't even get someone to crawl under the house to clean that area out because the opening is so small. And i've blocked this area off but they're digging more holes to get under the house. how do i get rid of these cats and the awful smell in my living room? and the worse part about it is, that i am severly allergic to cats! i wake up with puffy eyes and wheezes almost every morning!

There has to be something under your house they are trying to get to such as a food source. Give animal control or the local animal shelter a call to come and pick them up. Also try concreting or putting wood around the area they are getting in. A dog put in that area could also help. As far as the allergies , get some Benadryl. I don't know what to do about the smell until you get rid of the cats, but then your gonna have to clean out some way.

Can you put up lattice under the house to deter the cats from going underneath your home? What about putting mothballs around in a container with holes in it. That way they can't eat it, but the smell might repel them.

Maybe you should have some one check out the underneath of your house? There's got to be something that they're trying to get to. Put spray around your house that repels animals...just don't use poison, cause that's inhumane.

Call Animal Control (the dogcatcher). They'll catch the cat--probably with a trap and that problem will be solved. But as for your living room? I have no answer.
