I rescued my cats (brothers) and they are a little over a year old. I need to get them neutered as they are spraying....but is there a time where it is too late. As I know they say that declawing a cat after they are kittens it not recommended.

My cat is 10 months old and is forever loosing collars and they never last more than a couple of weeks before she comes home minus the collar i've always found the collars with a good bell on to be a useful warning for small creatures as my cat is always hunting and eating them when not wearing a collar
is there anyway i an stop her from loosing them or should i just give up and stop buying collars alltogether

My 2 year old Ragdoll neutered indoor only male cat has not been feeling well. I noticed a problem about a month ago with his behavior he was just not interested in anything, or playing. I figured it was the weather change. Next I noticed his appetite change he started becoming finicky with food. Hmm I also have a 4 year old female spayed cat, and nothing has changed with her at all she's fine. Also nothing in our home has changed no stress factors. Next he started drinking lots of water, and sitting by his bowl. His stools go on and off soft to normal. I've tried different food, everything. He has been losing weight, but the last three weekends his behavior is just terrible and his weight now is drastic. He has an apt tonight with our vet for an exam and test. We called the breeder and he thinks he could have some poisoning from recalled food. But non of our food we fed was recalled unless this is a strange case?? So he's tired, his coat is terrible, and no appetite ideas

ok, so a common problem, but my 2 cats keep catching mice, birds, and occasionally frogs, dead or alive into the house and garden.
how can i discourage this???

oh, and because their are 2 i generally dont know who has caught it...i sometimes try to take away their food or treat them badly, but i dont know which cta has caught it and at what time of the day-i could be punsihing them for something they did last night, in which case they wont work out what they are doing wrong.

please help! thanks x

I am "test driving" 2 littermate kitties, a male and a female. However, my cousin has a beautiful calico that won't be ready for at least 4 more weeks. Should I keep the 2 littermates? I can keep the female kitten I have now and introduce the calico in 4 weeks. I'm just confused! I want all three but "the husband" says no so I have to choose just 2. What should I do? Would it be best to keep littermates?

My cat's kittens are 8 days old, and the cat seems to be doing a good job feeding them, but sometimes when she's getting ready to feed them she sits on them and at least one of them gets all her body weight on its liitle head. It cries but the mother doesn't seem to care. I cant always be there to prevent it. Any ideas?

We just adopted a cat who had a litter 8 weeks ago, when we got her we brought her to the vet at which point we were informed she was pregnant again. I'm worried that another pregnancy will take a toll on her and want to keep her healthy, is there anything I can do to help her, vitamins? I heard whole milk yogurt from someone?

I have a 2 year old 20lb cat in my house and he eats and eats and eats... I want to buy Lite/diet/weight management food for him.
but i have 2 kittens and a smaller cat in the house.(4 total) i feed all of them the same food at the same time, since they eat out of all the bowls equally. i don't know how to train the fat cat to eat only out of one certain bowl with a diff food from the others.. I buy California natural mixed with science diet and Blue buffalo(I usually mix foods) . How can I exclude one cat from the others while eating?? With out compromising the others??

There was a mouse in his room and all he would do was just play with it. Just poke it with his paws and that would be it. He's 9 months old.

I had other kittens that would catch mice with their mouth and kill them. But they were both eaten by coyotes.

There are lots of mice around here and they did lots of damage to my cars by eating the hoses and wires. Around $2000 recently so I need a kitten that can catch mice.

So should I get rid of him and get others kittens that can catch mice????????

I have a rescued kitty. He's six months old and is getting fixed in the next week or two. This cat is the sweetest thing to me and my little boy, and most of the time to my husband. When my husband sleeps the cat cuddles up to him and most of the time will let my husband pet and love on him, but other times he stractchs and bites. This weekend he latched on and had to be pried off my husband's leg. I have two cats (both rescues) the other cat is female and fixed and does do this. I've never had a cat do this. What could be causing behavior???

Husband is going to get the bite looked at today at the doctor.
Cat is going to the vet and getting checked out and fixed.

I have two Caliko cats (both females). They have received their shots but have not been nuetered. Their are a lot of stray cats in the neighborhood and I do leave my windows open. They don't just do it when we are not home but at night while we are sleeping. I don't know what end it comes out of but its rich with ammonia and is a wine colored (dark) liquid.

We've had the cat for about 3 years now, we got him just after he was born. We've moved house once during that period and he adapted to the indoor and the outdoor environment within 2 days.

We just bought a puppy about 6 weeks old and the cat growled and arched his back. He keeps turning his back on us and has stayed out of the house just coming back for meals and so on. The puppy is quite playful and runs at the cat a lot so I've reeled the puppy in and held him in my hand and presented him to the cat so the cat can get a proper look/smell of him but the cat usually raises his paw threateningly.

Occasionally the cat comes and has a look at the puppy from a distance when he gets higher ground but generally keeps his distance.

I would like them to get on with each other because they're in separate rooms at the moment when unsupervised in case of a fight where the puppy would clearly come off worse. Anyone with suggestions/experience of this

We just got a new kitten to keep our other boy kitten company. She's absolutely precious and our male kitten licked her and seemed to like her at first but then started biting her like crazy. We're trying to wear them in together.

Sometimes they do play and she'll play back- but he's huge compared to her! A friend of mine is in the same position with an older kitten male and a younger girl and she said the Vet told her just to let him bite her and get it over with- so I tried that today and he went crazy and didn't stop!!! The female was crying out in pain and I felt awful-I went to put my hand in between to scoop her up and he bit me instead and drew blood!

Anyone have any ideas what i can do? For now we are keeping them seperated when we are gone and try to monitor their playing but the male is constanly attacking her like a lion does a gazelle.

HELP!

My cat Stinky has this gooey stuff coming out of his eye and when it dries up, it turns black. Does anyone have any idea what it is. This has been going on since he was like 5 months but he is still playful and able to eat. He is not blind or anything, nothing is wrong with him, just that stuff coming out of his eye.

He dumps it along the property line and sometimes even on our property. It smells awful. When I tried to talk to him about it, he said, "it isn't a problem for us. We have always just dumped it." He wasn't even apologetic about the litter he put in our yard. I can call the police, file a complaint. But in the meantime, how can I get him to stop? And what can I do about the smell? We keep our windows open and like to be outside on our porch.

My cat was neutered and he had a undecinded testicle, so they had to cut him to retrieve it, typically how long is the incision?, they cut him from bottom of the rib cage down near his pelvice, all in all its about a 6 or 7 inch incision, and I was wondering, did they butcher him or is that normal?

I just asked a question about my 3y.o. male and 2 m.o. female cats, who are play-fighting or just fighting. At first it looked like they were playing rough, when the kitten disturbed the older one. Instead of getting better, now the big male cat attacks her even if she is not bothering him. He pounces and puts her down and bites her really hard, he doesn't pierce her skin ut it looks like he will suffocate her or break her neck. What do you think, is there a chance they will get along?
