My cat was neutered and he had a undecinded testicle, so they had to cut him to retrieve it, typically how long is the incision?, they cut him from bottom of the rib cage down near his pelvice, all in all its about a 6 or 7 inch incision, and I was wondering, did they butcher him or is that normal?

This sounds normal, basically they had to do an exploratory on him......the testicle could have been pretty high up in the abdomen. I don't think the vet butchered him. Best of luck to you.

Spay incisions when they do female cats are usually small because they know exactly where to look and can just do little digging to find each ovary. Unfortunately in your little boy's case they really had no idea where to look so they had to open him right up (even then 6 inches does seem a little excessive I have to agree).
I wouldn't worry about it too much though, animals are amazing in the way they can bounce back and he should get over the surgery pretty quickly. Just keep him quiet, don't let him run around too much, and watch out for him licking or biting at the wound. If he does you will have to get a bucket collar to put on his head.
