I have two kittens that did that! One of them needed her own private litter box in that spot. I'm hoping she'll graduate to the big box when she gets bigger. The other one....I'm still having trouble with him. People have told me that the litter box has to be kept extra clean for some cats. I'm trying that. I'm also trying different types of litter to see if he likes one better t han the other. I never thought of putting food there...thats a good idea. Cats are instinctively clean (with the exception of pooping by your air conditioner) and probably wouldnt go where they eat.

Try putting the litter box there for a day... hoping the kitten uses it and then move it away from that spot, hoping the kitten will follow the litter box.

You have to start off slow, first put a kitty litter box where she is going. Then slowly move it a little at a time to where you want her to be. Some cats don't like sharing a kitty box with other cats. You might just have to have separate boxes.

put the litter box in that spot and when he starts using it, in time, move the box a little at at time away from there until you know he will go in it wherever he is.
The best method I always used when training a kitten, is keeping them confined to the bathroom with his box, bed and food in there until he can be trusted.

clean the place very good, and put something there, like a pice of material ... bbc. cotton will be great :) and wont make anything there, in clean places a cat dont do those tings, and put a box with sand in house where she to make her needs.

Try putting his food there for a while - apparently cats won't do their business where they are fed.
