My cat's kittens are 8 days old, and the cat seems to be doing a good job feeding them, but sometimes when she's getting ready to feed them she sits on them and at least one of them gets all her body weight on its liitle head. It cries but the mother doesn't seem to care. I cant always be there to prevent it. Any ideas?

I think she it just trying to keep them warm. Kittens bodies dont retain heat very well, especially at that age. Ever wonder why kitten sleep all curled up next to each other? It's not just to be cute. Dont worry, mama cat knows what she's doing.

my cat had her kittens 9 days ago and she does the same thing, and they cry. It doesn't really seem do hurt them. She is probly trying to keep them warm. If she thought she was hurting them she would probly get off.

Don't worry about it. Trixie (our three legged wonder, booger size cat) slept on her babies all the time. It is fair because they will sleep on her soon enough. The crying one may be hungry and can't get to a nipple.

She is trying to protect them from others. The most you can do is make sure the baby is being fed also and not squished. Other than that let her do her thing. She is protective and wants to do it herself so don't worry, it's normal.
