I have a 6 1/2 year old male cream tabby. One of his favorite activities is to groom me or my husband. Is this just a friendly act or is he trying to assert authority?

I've got my cat Lili (almost 3 years old now) and she wasn't necessarily an abused cat when I got her, it was just that she was rejected by her mother, weaned early and given as a pet to a three year old girl. You can imagine the trauma, I'm sure. My situation has changed, and I'm back at my mother's house for the time being. Lili's fine around other cats (wants to be friends, but my mom's old ladies don't want to be friends with her), but Mason (my parent's Boston Terrier) wants to be friends with her. It's just, well, he's a Boston Terrier, (Can we say spastic?), and she's a scardy-cat. They're both trying to be friends, but I'm out of ideas other than locking them in the same room until the screaming stops..........

Is my cat neurotic or does anyone else's cat behave this way?

and practically lay on top of him, smother him in kisses, and he doesn't do a thing. No hissing, no growling, doesn't try to get away, he just lays there and takes it with his ears half back. Do you think this annoys the crap out of him or does he take it just to amuse me?

My opinion is that cats who are outdoors beyond the owner's territory should be supervised by the owner. They shouldn't just be let out with a collar without walking with it, and expect it do come home safely. What do you think?

My 4 month old kitten insists on licking me whenever he is in the snuggly mood. At night time when I'm watching TV, he comes and snuggles up with me and licks me. When it's time for bed, he comes and gets in bed with me and licks my feet, my thighs, my hands, armpits, whatever he can find!!! It's cute, but kind of annoying as I don't like the feel of the tongue. Any insight as to why he is doing this?

We've had 3 kittens that we saved and domesticated for the last few months now. They've been living in a small room in our house together and we have just found a home for two of them (together). The third kitten that we kept is looking very lonely and sad, but we have an adult cat we want to introduce her to soon.

My questions are this:
1. What should we do to make her less sad about her sisters going away?
2. How can we help her feel comfortable sleeping at night (she's always slept in a basket with her two sisters up until now and I'm sure she'll be sad and lonely without their warmth, closeness, and noise at night)
3. How should we introduce her to the adult cat? (a boy, 3 years old, medium sized, not overweight, fixed, not declawed but they are kept clipped)
4. What should we do if she doesn't eat?

It's not an option to send her with her sisters, so please suggest other ways of comforting/caring for her to make the adjustment less hurtful on her little heart.

I just noticed that my cat has worms, I know it sounds gross, but does anyone know anything that I can give her to get rid of it, or something till I get to the vets? I have went to all sorts of pet stores and nobody seems to have any worm medication in stock, I guess it must be worm season. Any suggestions?

My cat is around 12 years old in cat years and lately ive noticed her sneezing from time to time. Is this just because of her age or is she sick?

Okay so i have this cat his name is spazz, everyday i go through this routine he meows to go outside i let him out, then 10 minutes later he is meowing to come inside, and then 10minutes after that he is meowing to go back outside, etc..... He is 2.5yrs old we used to live in a house before we sold it and was a completely indoor cat and had never gone out before, then we move to this apartment last April(2006) and all he wants to do is go out. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I am about to pull all my hair out i can't stand him meowing all the time. Could this at all have to do with the fact i have 3 other cats as well(all indoor,to scared to even go near the front door) and he does play with them all.

"Coco" came into my home early November, she was either abondoned or lost, I tried to find her owner to no avail. She gave birth 10 weeks ago to 5 kittens, of whom all have good homes
(trust me!) and she is in heat again as of today. I spoke to my vet and she said Coco can be spade by now after delivering and I made arrangements to be done next week. I just read that you should wait till they are out of heat before having them spade but
I thought my vet would know what she's talking about. I would
wait if it is going to put Coco's life in jeapordy....I love her dearly but she is driving me crazy meowing and howling all day an night.
I'd appreciate hearing from those of you who seem to have quite
a bit of knowledge about felines...some of the answers to questions on this site....those people should be banned!!
Thank you very much. Nikita

I have this neutered male 9 yr old ginger and white DSH I love to bits. He is active and always needs to think he is doing something productive like patrol the house and grounds at least once a day. So, I was thinking, if Kaffe were a dog, he would definitely fall into the category of "working dogs" - possibly a German Shepherd becuase he also likes to chase away any intruders if given the chance. My 1 yr old neutered male on the other hand will fall into the category of a playful lapdog coz there's nothing better he likes than to lay accross my lap and be petted.

He has recently started sitting under one of the lamps in my house. He will sit there for a little while, and then leaves, but he has been doing this everyday. I've had him for 3 years, but he has only started doing it in the last few weeks. Is this cause for concern?

Thanks to all who responded to my original question. I took my cat (kitten) back to the vet and as I suspected, he hit a nerve. He gave her a sub Q injection of a steroid. He felt that she will be okay, but she is still not walking right. I read that this may take several weeks to resolve. Has anyone out there had this experience? What was the treatment? What was the prognosis. Again, thank you for your response and concern.

Help. Someone I dislike very much took my cat and dropped it off about 15-20 miles away from my house. I have searched for him. What are the chances of him finding his way home. He is 6 and we have lived in the same house all his life..

Most cats seem to relax when picked up by the scruff of their neck. My cat seems to do the opposite. He starts to cry and sounds as though he is in pain. I don't have the heart to pick him up that way but others who I know and who have done so to their cats and not had problems have also picked chevy up this way and he had the same bad reaction.
