My 4 month old kitten insists on licking me whenever he is in the snuggly mood. At night time when I'm watching TV, he comes and snuggles up with me and licks me. When it's time for bed, he comes and gets in bed with me and licks my feet, my thighs, my hands, armpits, whatever he can find!!! It's cute, but kind of annoying as I don't like the feel of the tongue. Any insight as to why he is doing this?

Hmmm...
1. S/he may think that you are simply delicious.
2. S/he may think you need grooming.
2. Seriously, though, it is a sign of affection and bonding according to the experts. WikiPedia says "They will also sometimes lick their owners for similar reasons, that is, to "groom" them and to show them caring and affection. Some owners enjoy these licks and find them pleasant, (although not for long periods of time since cats have rough tongues), while other owners don't like the licking as much."

That's his way of showing affection. Cats do this to each other all the time so he sees you as one of his own. It's very good when a cat is this comfortable with an owner and the cat is so loving. Just show him the same affection by scratching is head and under his chin and just snuggling with him. If it starts to bother you let him do it for a little while than gently move him away. You don't want to just push him off to the side right away, he may feel rejected. Also ask your vet about this behavior, they could probably give you more detailed information. Hope this helps.

LOVE baby, LOVE!!!!!!! You are a mommy now and we groom each other all the time. Gentle biting on the forehead inside of the ear is way cool with us cat mommies. Get used to it and learn to enjoy the tiny ball of fur that depends on you for everything except oxygen. A good primer for those of you who think pregnancy is for nine months and not eighteen years. Let him lick where you can stand it, back of the hand, bottom of foot. If you withdraw under the covers he will learn to back off a bit.

It's all about love. When cats are kittens with their mother they are constantly licked. When we as humans pet our cats it reminds them of their mothers licking them. Licking by the mother is not only for cleaning, as most people may think, it is also affection. The cat learns this at a young age and wants to share affection with you. Some cat's grow out of this or they just don't really love you as much as you love them. Cats choose their people...people don't choose cats.

It could be one of two things. It could be just giving you affection and grooming you. Or it may have been taken from it's mother too young and does this for comfort. It's likely just giving you loves, most kittens who were taken too young will suckle on your ear, shirt, or fingers, rather than actually licking you. If you had a 2nd kitten it would groom it instead.

He's probably not getting enough salt in his diet. My kitten did the same thing. My 2 year old cat does it too. Just make sure he's eating enough and he may grow out of it.
If thats not the case, he may still want milk from his mom and is trying to get it from somewhere else. He'll grow out of it if you just push him away when it gets annoying. It is cute though!

your kitten just loves you...my cats do the same thing...one of the cats that I had before would (sorry if this sounds gross) suck on my earlobe at night...that is the only way she would go to sleep but she grew out of it after a couple of months. I hated every minute of it...the 2 cats that I have now love to "bath" me and my favorite teddy bear...maybe they will eventually grow out of it but they will be 2 this June...
But yea...your kitty just loves you and is showing you affection...
