Hi there!
Sometimes bad breath in cats means there are some dental problems that need to be addressed. Most cats tend to have semi-stinky breath, from licking themselves and eating fishy food, but really smelly breath could mean there is an infected tooth, tartar build up or the beginning of gum disease. I would recommend taking your kitty to the vet and having them look at her teeth. They will be able to let you know the reason for the smell and what can be done to remedy it. Most likely if they do find dental issues they'll want to do a cleaning. Cleanings can be fairly expensive because the cat needs to be put under anesthesia so they can properly clean it's teeth. Although it might be a bit pricey it's worth it, because proper mouth care now it will help to prevent future dental issues. Hope this helps!! :)

There are several products on the market to help you deal with bad kitty breath including cat toothbrush and paste, cat treats that can help minimize tartar or freshen cat breath as welll as kitty breath drops.
It is first important to understand and treat any underlying diseases that may be causing the foul odor. These include:
1. Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums)
2. Abscessed tooth or teeth
3. Bone or hair stuck in mouth
4. Oral ulceration
5. Foreign bodies in the mouth (such as plant material or grass awns)
6. Oral neoplasia (tumors of the mouth)
7. Lung diseases, such as lung cancer
8. Severe kidney disease
9. Periodontitis (inflammation of the tissue that surrounds the tooth)
Home care recommendations will depend on the underlying cause of the problem. Some steps that you can take to help eliminate your cat's bad breath include:
1. Brushing your cat's teeth daily. Tooth brushes/finger brushes and special toothpastes are available from your veterinarian.
2. Spraying 0.12 percent chlorhexidine (prescribed by your veterinarian) into your cat's mouth once a day for seven to fourteen days.
3. Following dietary considerations recommended by your veterinarian. Special diets that may be beneficial include Hill's Prescription Diet T/D®.
4. Evaluation by your veterinarian if the bad breath persists.

My cats breath is so bad it will wake me up if he yawn close to me! He's 14, has liver psoriasis and other intestinal problems, he eats medical mixed with T/D (as it's not complete). The vet says for him its a matter of the other medical conditions.
He either has bloody stool or breath so bad the dogs walk away. Its better to get it check by a vet, it could be a sign of something serious.
Now, if I could find the people who first had him who force fed him alcohol that destroyed his liver... their livers would be the least of their problems!

Considering that it constantly licks itself and eats food that doesnt exactly smell like mints.
Bad breath can also be a sign of poor teeth and/or gum infections.
Make a vet appointment if youre really concerned.

You should start brushing her teeth every day with water. If you wanted 2 use the breath mints, u could put them in peanut butter or something ur cat really likes. They way when ur cat eats the peanut butter, or wutevur it is, ur cat will also eat the breath mint.
Good luck!!!

Bad breath can be caused from the stomach gases as a result of the kind of food you are feeding her. Also, look into the possibility of her having problems with her teeth.

that's cats for you!
It's normal. I've never known a cat to have sweet smelling breath, just one of the down-sides to having them as companions, I'm afraid.

What you have in basic terms suggested is one in each and every of the main insanely idiotic issues I even have ever heard. At no factor on your rambling, incoherent question have been you even on the factor of something that must be seen a rational theory. all and sundry in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no factors, and could God have mercy on your soul.
