My cat, Lily, is a strange one. I lve her to death but sometimes I think she is just too strange for words. She has a thing for pickled okra, sweet gerkins(pickles) or strawberry twizzlers. What is something that you thought your cat ate that was funny. Don't worry, I dont give it to her all the time, just we have to hide it when we eat it cause she tries to swipe it from us! She acts like she does with catnip! LMAO! Anybody else have a cat with strange cravings?

We are foster a mother cat and her four kittens. Our friends have two cats which they recently adopted from a shelter. They bought one of those cat drinking foundtain water bowls for them but their cats refused to drink it. They would drink out of the xmas tree water and other water but they would not touch the filtered, pure, running fountain water. Therefore our friends gave us the fountain because they thought that our kittens would like it. Our foster mother drinks from it, but I am worried that the kittens will become acustomed to pure water like our friend's cats were acustomed to regular water and therefore only drink foundtain filtered water. Does anyone know if they will develop a preference to this pure water?

I have a sweet cat that we found as a stray not too long ago. She has done really well with our dog and three year old little boy. The problem is that we just had a beautiful little baby girl 12 days ago and the cat will not leave her alone. She wants to be in the crib or anywhere else the baby is. I don't think she is trying to hurt her but this is not safe for the baby. I love my animals and we have had our two dogs for 11 years but I have to choose the baby over the cat. I can not stand another day of being scared to turn my back. I have spent the entire day on the phone trying to find a shelter or somebody to take her. I have called all the local vets and both animal shelters. We have put an ad in the paper and also in local stores but nothing. What are we supposed to do? My husband wants to take her and put her right back where we found her but I don't feel right about doing that because it's getting cold here. I can't blame him, the baby comes first. Any ideas?

My cat is incredibly lazy and has gained a considerable amount of weight over the past 5 years or so. He used to play with our dog, but she died and ever since then he won't play with anyone and he continuously gains weight. He's up to about 22 lbs! We've put him on diet food for the past 2 years or so and we give him just under the recommended amount, but he still hasn't lost any weight. We've tried to get him to be more active, but with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions???

We have found a kitten about four weeks ago. When we first saw it, we thought it was a bobcat. We figured it just looked like one, but as the weeks have progressed, it has looked more and more like one. It has allso become more aggressive. How can we tell if it is or not. Don't say "look at the tail" Some bobcats have long tails. Eny information?

She is climbing the artificial prelite tree that I got last year. She is bending branches and knocking off ornaments. Oh and eating the fake needles then vomiting them. What a joyful thing to come home to or wake up to. Cat vomit and a frazzled tree. I can't put her in a room she goes UNDER the door to get out.

Any Advice.

Anything I can spray around the tree to make her stay way yet let us be in the room?

I heard that there was a vein in the cats nails. If you cut it too short, you can bleed them. How short can i cut it without hurting it?

My cat (he's a rescued orange tabby) is extremely sweet and affectionate, however, he's increasingly more demanding of my attention. And when I eat, he literally tries to stick his nose in my mouth to see what I'm eating (of course, I share all my food with him). He constantly paws at me while I'm eating and tries to sit in my lap. I've tried to push him away but this has no effect whatsoever. Has anyone ever "cured" a cat of being such a pest?

My cat, who is awsome, will constantly lift her paws up and down on me before laying on me-it can last a few minutes-why does she do this?

My cat really appreciates the effort I take to bring the outside in, just for him! The tree skirt always has a fine protective coating of white fur!

Several years ago my family adopted a cat from the pound. He was a great cat, and unfortunately died several years ago. However when researching cat breeds I found that this cat had all the physical features and temperaments of a Maine Coon. But since we had gotten him from the pound there was no way to see if he was purebred or not.

So I was wondering, is there anyway to find out if a cat is a purebred or not when you can't access its family history? Or is that the only way?
