We have found a kitten about four weeks ago. When we first saw it, we thought it was a bobcat. We figured it just looked like one, but as the weeks have progressed, it has looked more and more like one. It has allso become more aggressive. How can we tell if it is or not. Don't say "look at the tail" Some bobcats have long tails. Eny information?

If it is a bobcat then you have more than you can handle. A bobcat has to potential to seriously hurt a person and their temperment is not the best. You can't always predict how they will act. If you seriously think you may have a bobcat kitten, then take it to the vet and get the vet's answer. Besides, it is always a good idea to take a stray to the vet. Lots of little nasty health problems a cat can pick up living outside.

I suggest takeing it to a vet.

There are many "BobCat".

The Big Cat kind are Wild Animals that cannot/shouldn't be domesticated. (I attract these).

There are Breeds that the Bob Tail is normal.

There are Cats that are born with Bob Tails even though they are neither of the above.

There are also Domestic Cat patterns that look like the Bob Cats but are not,.. but are supposed to have a normal tail.

There are also genetic factors or it is posible he could have lost his tail before he was born or in an accident after he was born.

I would go take him to a Vet,.. just to have Breed checked. They may say it is feral and diseased :/ He may also have certain things includeing parasites that were passed to him before he was born but will not present symptoms yet,.. when they do it will be sudden and could threaten his life >.<

Bobcats will usually have "tufts" of fur on their ears....also very large feet-even when young, and a stalky build. Alot of times their faces will be a bit "flatter" on the nose area (profile) than a domestic cat. And yes, you already know of the tail. Coloring and markings would be a good indication as well...not many orange tiger-striped bobcats out there LOL!

LAST RESORT? Take it to a vet and let them take a once-over.

Look at the tail. Bobcats are called bobcats for a reason.

no all bobcats have short tail with a black tip and they have pointy ears with long strands of fur right at the tip(i think those are also in black not too sure) and for the aggresive part i dunno i mean if you got it as a kitten u shouldnt have too many problems domesticating it that is if its a real bobcat..
