We will stop often for them to crawl around the car and such. But we have 2 kittens and were thinking of bringing them to my family for a 3 day christmas vacation. The kittens will not be left without us (the parents they know) for more than an hour or 2. People do it often with dogs, so I am just curious, it will be easier than finding a sitter. We will bring their toys, same food, same litter and probably will limit them to a certain part of my mom's house that has enough room to roam. Plus they will have eachother which they can't live without!

Our oldest cat (a child to us) has been getting sick, and was recently diagnosed with liver problems. For many, many years he has had a bad hip...and would stumble off to the side every once in a while when he walked. A few years ago he started developing lumps all over his body that the vet called (fat deposits?)...and said were harmless. In the past 1/2 year or so...(especially in the past month or two)...he has been losing weight (he is down to 6.2 lbs) and having more trouble walking. (he now falls from side to side with almost every step) It has been a week since his last visit...he has been on 2 meds (ClavaMox and Lact/Milk Thistle Mix)...and been put on a strict diet. He seems to eat fine...drinks a lot of water...urinates lots (usually wherever he wants) and seems to sleep with his eyes open...we are worried seeing no improvement. The vet offered to change meds, x-ray (looking for a mass,) do an ultrasound...or a biopsy on his liver. Or they can experiment with steriods. HELP!!

Why does my cat suck on her fur and my clothes? It almost seems like she is trying to nurse from it but she is way too old to still be nursing, I think she is about 8 months old. I just think this is weird and I have never had a cat do that. Thanks in advance!

My husband walked in on me singing to my cats. I've got these cute little songs I made up with their names (tunes of Row Row Your Boat and You Are My Sunshine). I also talk to them and do voice overs for them. He thinks I'm nuts. Just to prove a point, what are some silly things you do with your cat when nobody's looking?

I am writing because my cat has only one eye and i want to know if i am worrying myself over nothing by being concerned that he will eventually lose sight in his other eye, too. are cataracts and blindness the usual when it comes to cats aging?

Aside from a super fluffball. Her coat usually isn't so messed up, I think she'd just woken up or something... oh and her individual strands of fur are really kinky like crimped hair. But altogether her fur looks smooth.

My 5/6 month old kitten keeps trying to suck on my eyes, especially at night. I know that it's a variation on wool sucking and she's doing it for comfort. But it's driving me crazy! She wakes me up repeatedly by licking my eye sockets.

I posed this question before and someone suggested wearing a mask over my eyes at night. Well, I tried it, and the kitten ripped the mask off me. I'm not kidding. She grabbed it in her teeth and pulled it off until the eye was revealed so she could suck away. But not before waking me up every hour to suck on my chin, nose, earlobe, or anything else she could get her mouth on.

Will she grow out of this? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm desperate for ideas.

I love my cats, some say i'm cat crazy. I think deep down i know why some people love their pet more than people, it would be good to hear folks views. Thank you.

My cat has systematically ruined EVERY pair of shoes that I own. EVERY LAST FREAKING PAIR!!! He goes into my closet and pi**es everywhere. I can't use my closet anymore as it smells like cat urine and I can not get the smell out.

1. How do I get the smell out

2. How do I keep him from doing it.

He has about 3 days (until sat) to quit this. Last time he did it I told my son that he was GONE...but I really honestly can't get rid of him....eventhough my foot did come into contact with his *** yesterday...he is my sons cat so I would feel bad if I took him to the pound.

Any suggestions?

And yes...he can open the closet door.

I am seeking any VALID information that anyone can help me with. I had a cat that just passed. She was overall heathly and was about 12 years old (current vaccinations and an indoor cat). About a month ago she started to become lethargic and about two weeks ago just stopped eating. I was having to force feed her. The vets say old age, but I do not agree.. it seemed to quick for me. Now I maybe searching for an answer because i just do not agree with old age.. she went from a playful cat to a deceased cat in a month. I have been racking my brain and the only thing I can think of that I changed, was what I mopped my tile floors with. I used a 'popular' spray with the mop attached with removable cleaning pads. I am sick over her passing but I can not help but wonder if this product has been linked to any other pet deaths. Or am I just looking to blame myself. Serious answers only ALL others WILL be REPORTED

I have a litter box that sometimes she will go in and sometimes not. What is really frustrating is that I can't leave anything fabric like on the floor or she will go on that. We no longer have rugs on our hardwood floors or in our bathroom to try to keep her going in the litter box. We keep the litter box clean. She goes there sometimes but sometimes not. I can't figure her out.

As some of you know my darling Baggy (Bagheera) had to be put to sleep last wednesday after he suffered kidney failure. I am on my own and my home is so empty without him... I have been offered this week a 16 year old persian and a 9 week old ginger kitten but I couldnt take either. All my animals have come to me...2 horses and 2 cats...should I wait until someone needs me (ie turns up on the doorstep or through the RSPCA), or do I get another cos my home is just a house without an animal?

My beautiful, sweet and loving kitten Lightining died tonight. My dog thought he was trying to get his dinner and tried to warn him off and carry on eating but he caught the kittens head and punctured his skull. His head was no bigger than a snooker ball and my dog is a Labrador so you can see the comparison. Thankfully it was instant, the dog didn't mean it, my husband said it was all very quick and when it was over the dog tried to push him with his nose to wake him up . I was at work at the time and when I got home it was all over. We have just taken him to the vet to dispose of him and even the nurse was in tears. He was not a very lucky cat really, he has had many many near misses, it seems that his 9 lives were used up in a very short time. We still have his brother though so at least there is some comfort in that. My little son is very upset and even my "hard as nails" husband has been crying, he feels guilty as he was threre and just couldnt stop it as it happened so quickly.

I moved to the country almost 4 months ago.Since then several starved cats has adopted me(not starving no more). Alot of the houses in the area I live in is built on bricks(blocks). These cats has 3 acres of land to mess on but chooses to go under the house. We will be skirting the house sometime after the holidays. The smell is terrible. It attracts alot of flies. Is there anything that I can put under the house that will discourage the cats from pooping under the house that will not harm the cats and cost under $100.00.I just cant turn my back on a animal in need nor can I drop them off at a shelter that is over ran with unwanted cats.Im fixing all the cats starting with the females first to stop anymore unwanted cats.
