Cats do this becuase it comforts them and in an effort to regain those kitten feelings of comfort and security when they were kneading their mummy's belly and nursing. As the cat matures, the sucking will lessen but many cats will continue to knead anything soft as a pillow - usually your stomack or lap - again for comfort and also to express dependancy.

She could be toothing - Get her a soft/hard chew toy to teeth on. Cats need plenty of toys and materials to scratch and chew on, and entertainment. Play with your cat more often, whether its with a remote controlled mouse or a stuffed animal.
Go to your local pet store, they have a variety of toys your cat can chew on.
If its not that, your cat might have a cavity, or something agrivating her tooth (Maybe food wedged between). If this continues or gets more serious take her to the vet to get her teeth checked.

My mom told me about our old cat ( I was way too young to remember pumpkin) she would suck on people's necks, in fact she left a little hickey on my grandpa's neck while he was sleeping at my house. It's because she was taken away from her mother too soon. Anytime before 6 weeks is way too soon.

The sucking is comforting to her- just like the way cats "knead" their paws. It makes them happy.

I have heard that they do that because they were weaned from mommy too soon. I had a cat that did it the entire time I had her (14 yrs).

It's comfort thing. Someone said it was because she was taken from her mom too early. Not necessarily. I have two who were found on the roadside at about 2 weeks, taken to my vet, who gave them to me at about 3 weeks. They're better adjusted than the one who still sees his bio mom on occasion.

Cats have different behaviors just like we do. No two cats are alike just like there are no two people exactly alike.
Nothing wrong with your cat it is just the way your cat is.
Accept it.
