My 5/6 month old kitten keeps trying to suck on my eyes, especially at night. I know that it's a variation on wool sucking and she's doing it for comfort. But it's driving me crazy! She wakes me up repeatedly by licking my eye sockets.

I posed this question before and someone suggested wearing a mask over my eyes at night. Well, I tried it, and the kitten ripped the mask off me. I'm not kidding. She grabbed it in her teeth and pulled it off until the eye was revealed so she could suck away. But not before waking me up every hour to suck on my chin, nose, earlobe, or anything else she could get her mouth on.

Will she grow out of this? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm desperate for ideas.

Yes she will grow out of this behavior. I don't think its like wool sucking that is a pica behavior. She's looking for the comfort of her mother but sucking on your (what, eye lids?) I can't imagine how annoying that must be for you. I hesitate to even suggest this but have you tried keeping her out of your bedroom at night? Maybe you could wear a tee shirt you don't really care too much about and leave it on the bed for her. She might accept this as a substitute for using your face as her focus of comfort. Good luck on this one. One final possibility that you may consider is getting her a companion kitten that she can play and sleep with. Maybe then you'll be able to get a good night's sleep.

Ok, that's just weird. Maybe you should keep your kitten out of your room while you sleep. Alternatively, i know that pet stores sell bitter apple stuff that's non toxic and prevents animals from chewing on stuff, it works for my rabbit. Maybe if you put it on your eyelids very carefully, the part farthest away from your eyes, that might help. But make sure not to get it in your eyes. After a couple of tries, your kitty should stop, because the nasty stuff should cause her to feel an aversion to sucking on your eyes.

She'll grown out of it. My kitten use to bury his head in my hair while I slept and suck on my earlobes, I would flick him on the head 'til he got the point. She just wants her mom. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's perfectly normal. One thing my cat never grew out of was biting my nose when I get home from school or work, maybe it's his way a kissing...

Your kitten will grow out of this. That's all I can say. My mom's cats used to do the same thing. Even worse, they would wake me up by poking my eyes with their paws. HAHA, its kind of funny, but annoying too. You will look back on this and laugh!

They dont sparkling a tank. They consume algae and bring assorted waste. As for what cecilia stated, plecos get 24 inches and are tropical fish. I do desire you have upwards of a one hundred twenty five gallon tank for those 3 fish?

I have two cats, and neither has ever done what you describe. Not to make light of it, but the whole thing sounds kind of funny. I see that it is very annoying.

Does your bedroom have a door? Just shut the door, or put your cat in a room where it can be locked up with its food and litter. Good luck.

well maybe she just thinks its her mom...i think you should get her a baby bottle nipple to suck on it sorta has a round tip so she will think its your eyeball but its not so she will still like it...it might just work or maybe a small rubber ball but not so small that she could swallow it! I hope one of these work!
