she might be bored, cats (especially kittens) need almost constant attention, thats why its good to get two cats, cause they can entertain each other. If the cat is an indoor cat, then the crazyness is only gonna get worse.
Kittens take time but if you just keep trying it should start being nicer, just have to be patient. Its hard to get older cats to change their ways but kittens are easier .

What I think is happening is that as time passed, she started to feel more secure in your home, started to feel as if it's HER home, too. And the more secure she feels, the more she'll want to start testing your limits, to see how far she can go before you, as the alpha, tells her off. I don't know how much you've tried to train her not to do things like that, but if you haven't told her off and been consistent, she'll think that "well, this is okay... so if I go a little further, maybe?"

I'm not saying "spare the rod, spoil the child", but you have to set down SOME rules. If you're kind all the time, she'll start thinking she can push you around to get what she wants. =/

Spaying her might get her to settle down, and unless you're planning on having kittens later on, it's also the better choice for HER, since it lessens the risk for diseases and infections in that area.

I do NOT recommend declawing her. You can compare declawing her to amputating your fingers at the first joint. Some cats can learn to live with this handicap, of course, just as some people learn to live with various handicaps, but there are several who just can't cope with it. For example, it seems very common (from what I've read here, that is; declawing is illegal over where I live, and for good reason) that declawed cats stop using the litterbox simply because it HURTS too much to scratch the sand.

My cat is the same way! We've had her since she's 5 weeks. And ever since we got her she's been the meanest kitten, but has had some nice times. Growing up she would attack anyone and bite anyone, even in the face! She'd claw onto the hands and wouldn't let go, kind of like a death grip and then start biting. I have to badly admit that she's got flown off my desk a couple of times, but the darn cat jumps back up and wants to fight more. It's a little crazy. She wasn't badly brought up, she's spoiled with toys, not bored. We always play with her, she was brought up with 2 dogs though pit bull and toy fox terrier. She even chases after them and bites them. This cat has no fear.

I think it's just personality, she's my cat but has this strange thing with my mom that we call "loving time". As soon as my mom wakes up in the morning for work my cat goes nuts and wants to be "loved" (picked up and pet, etc). My mom does this for about 10mins. and my cat drools and if it's anything over that she starts to attack. I've tried to do this in the morning instead of my mom doing it and she just attacks me. It's crap. It's like i'm a playtoy. We've still yet to get her spayed though i'm hoping that helps with things, and she got declawed :( But only because my parents were tired of her clawing up things and people (guests and family).

Oh and my cat is a year and 1 month. And hasn't changed at all since we got her. She's still the playful evil kitten even without claws. But I love that about mine, she makes me laugh.

It seems that every cat I've ever gotten has had the same temperament you described. Right now she basically going through cat puberty if she's only 5 months. You might want to take her to the vet to see if she's in heat, if she is there is your problem. once she comes out of heat she will have a more calm temperament.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like a cat my cousin had. She couldn't walk from the bathroom to the bedroom without the cat launching himself at her to scratch & bite her legs! It was sitting quietly grooming himself and suddenly it was flying at my face! Thank goodness I had sunglasses on or my eyes would have been clawed! I love cats, but that one was vicious. She had to turn it in to the shelter. She was starting to become afraid of going home!

Maybe she doesn't like you? Does she act like this with other people?

Some cats just aren't the friendly, cuddly type. My aunt and I had a cat for 16 years and I think my aunt touched her once a year when she took her to the vet for her shots and that was a challenge!

Accept her for how she is or find someone else who can.

Mmm,.. thinking and actting like that makes the cat reflect back.

Off subject a little... has she been Spayed/Fixed?

Maybe she is mad at you,.. or maybe you have been immitateing her and she taught you agressive behavior and you've been agressive in Cat towards her but not known so now she is all riled up.

( Your cat is not as mean or insane as my male).

Oh,.. do you have a Scratch Post or anything she hangs out with or on?

Haha, thats classic isn't it. Yeah, cat's truly vacation out on eyes. the way we blink them or look decrease to and fro. at the same time as they're up close it purely appears like yet another ingredient to pat round and chase. that is totally primary, and incredible!! purely be careful in the journey that your cat is the shape to really attempt to attack your eye!! :0)

I had the exact same problem with my cat pure evil. And u know I went to the vet and they suggested to have her nails taken out and her tubes tied, so she couldn't bread and couldn't scratch every freaking thing that came near her. And now I have the perfect cat it just settles them right down and they can do without the nails. that's what u should do seriously.

Some cats just aren't social. You have to accept that an give her the best life you can, anyway. :)
If she's an indoor cat, you may want to invest in declawing her, though.
