how much money would you spend on your cat for medical issues? or would you spend whatever it takes?

are you a bad kitty parent if you draw the line somewhere as to what you will spend on their well-being?

ok, so don't even bother if you are just going to tell me to go to the vet or get a second opinion, because i am going to do that. what i am attempting to do is to educate myself as well so that i know remotely if our vet is taking advantage of us or if this is a typical way to seek answers to our problems with our cats.

so, my question is where can i find information that relates to our cats problems... our vet is so freaking vague & is only doing tests with no answer whatsoever for EITHER animal! so, i am going to explain the problems & if anyone has had a pet with a similar problem, please help with information!!! then perhaps i can narrow things down in this vast areana of information on the internet.

She use to ralph almost every day, after trying differant foods I've found that w/ SCIENCE DEIT she only looses it about 3 or 4 times a week. I know she's old and will be lucky to last another 2 months.... but I've thought that for the last 3 years!
I can't afford a vet or meds.
She seems to still be in good health- jumps from the bed to the window cill(about 3-1/2 ft.) w/ no problem, hears a bird fly past an open door and will watch a fly from 20 ft. away.... she just can't keep her food down at times.
She has went from 11 lbs to 7 lbs in the last 2 or so years. Any words of wisdom?

my kitten is litter trained and he likes to go outside when I am at work but, the minute he comes in the house he runs straight over to the litter pan and uses it. I hate litter pans however, I hate messes more and I would love to do away with the pan all together. I don't want to have to worry about having a mess to clean up if I do away with it.

Both my cats are freaking out now and I dont know why. I came home from the store and one of my cats was sniffing one of the plastic bags, they usually do this, next thing I know, shes tearing, I mean TEARING around the house with the bag wrapped around her. I didnt see what happened but I have never seen her so scared! She ran up and down the hallway and ran into a chair once, my other cat was observing this and I think got run over once by her. I finally managed to get the bag off of her and there was cat urine in it, that and a couple wet spots on the carpet. She hid under the bed and hissed at me for about 20 minutes, my other cat was hiding in the kitchen and hissing at me too. What happened? Why are they mad at me? What should I do?

My daughter,s cat goes potty in the toilet bowl, they did not know that he was capable of doing that. When she went into the bathroom she always found poop in the toilet bowl and she was always blaming her daughter for not flushing it, of course my grandaughter always said it wasn't her so, then she would blame her husband, of course he also said he wasn't the one that did that, until she caught her cat doing poop in the toilet. so the mystery was solved I wonder if someone else knows about other cats that do the same thing.

Yes the Vet sent my cat home with a catheter. It was stiched in, and he did have a stone that would not allow him to urinate. Being concerned I don't want the cat to hurt himself. the vet said that it was natural to let the cat take it out himself. please help.

It doesn't look like typical acne. These develop as bumps like pimples with out pus the fur around these falls out they seep a little and crust over and eventually go away. This time she has more than I have ever seen and several are grouped together causing larger areas of hair loss and they seem to be uncomfortable to her. I can't take her to the vet due to finances. It is not like acne as there is no black debris and acne is usually on the chin. I have researched the web and haven't found any pictures of anything like it. If it was just a bump or two I wouldn't worry but there are at least twelve bumps and most spots are two or more together. Where she has scratched they are raw. Is there any type of ointment that will speed healing? I have heard that Phisohex can be used on cat acne but since I am not sure what this is I didn't want to irritate her skin anymore. Any advise would be appreciated.

I had my silver persian AVID microchipped for the sole reason that if she were ever lost or stolden I would be able to track her. September 2005 during a move from Peccole Ranch Las Vegas NV, My beloved Lucy wandered off and I never saw her again. She is exstemly friendly and would cuddle up to any one. I miss her so much. Anyway back to the microchip thing, after losing her I noticed that the veterinary hospitals/clinics, DO NOT scan your pet when they are taken in for check ups/shots/spay/neuter ect. Why have a system if it is not going to be utelized. The vet office people just assume that that is your pet and DO NOT scan them. I believe that I would have my lucy sitting in MY lap today and not the person how took her.

Her chip number is 044037628 if you picked up a stray purebred silver/grey persian from the Peccole Ranch area, take her to be chipped at any vet hospital near you.

Why have a system if the professionals that care for our animales DON"T USE IT

Isn't it funny how cats are fascinated by absolutely nothing? Mine love to watch me shower, love milk jug rings and tin foil balls, even the shadow from the ceiling fan! What fascinates your cat?
