so I bought some of the over the counter ear mite treatment by hartz. does anyone know if it works well or not? It has Pyethrins 0.005% and piperonyle butoxide, technical 0.50% in it. The label says to do it for 7 to 10 days. What is the best way to apply it in his ears. Any advise would be appriciated. Thanks.

is it a sign of old age in cats for their winds to be frequent and smell of rotten eggs .. or would a change in diet help .. the cat has wet food from a pouch in the morning and dry food for the rest of the day ..

I have three cats: 1 adult and two 7 month old kittens. All they want to do is eat all day. Especially the little ones. They got really fat even though they get plenty of exercise. I don't over feed them as the vet has told me that I give them the right amount of food. The vet said that they have worms and has given them tablets. But nothing has changed. They go absolutely berserk when it is meal time. I have to put them outside while I prepare their meals as it is impossible to keep them indoors. Once I let them in, they literally fly through the door. Once they finish their food they want to eat the leftovers of the dogs' food as well as ours. Today I spilled oil from a tin of tuna fish onto my trousers and one of the cats has actually eaten away that part of my trousers. We live in the country and they catch mice too, but they just seem permanently hungry. What is going on with them?

When and where were domesticated cats first mentioned? I am referring to the small version many people have in their homes.

He does. He loves to get in it and sleep and has no problems what so ever being 'locked' in it.

I have seen other cats that HATE their crates. My cat just loves to be in his, in fact that is where he spends most of his time. I can't really explain why he does. I didn't do anything to really make him get used to it.

What did I do right then?

Please, only answer if you have a cat that was declawed or know someone who had their cat declawed. I have a young cat I took in from outside when he was a kitten. I think he is about 7 months old, no more than 8. He is a scratcher. I have tried everything that vets, friends, and books have suggested. He has a scratching post. I have had cats all my life and never seen a cat scrath like this! I can't put up with this forever. I'm at my wits end. I tried those softclaws things and they just kept falling off. I've also tried keeping his nailed trimmed, and then I tried not trimming them (so he wouldn't feel like he needed to sharpen them). One last detail, he is a strictly indoor cat. I have had only indoor cats for 23 years, so he is safe. I am also not willing to give him to a shelter, he is otherwise a very sweet and loving cat. Anyway, is cat declawing safe enough or worth the risk?

Somewhere in Texas (Houston?) a "bird professor" was arrested for allegedly shooting a feral cat that was killing birds. He was charged with cruelity towards an animal.

But isn't it legal and good to kill feral animals that kill hundreds if not thousands of wild animals?

I have 3 cats, 2 girls(sisters), and a boy. I know that the girls have had a problem with peeing outside of the litter box before. One female had a urinary tract infection that we cleared. The male has never even attempted to try and pee outside of the box. I am 6 months pregnant, and have a room full of baby things. Normally, the room is closed, but it was left open this morning, When I went in the room, the bassinet was peed in. I love my cats and don't want to get rid of them. If this is happening now before the baby, I can only imagine how they will react after the baby arrives. SInce the bassinet will be in our room, when the baby comes, I am afraid that this area where they all sleep now, will have to be off limits when the baby comes. I don't know what to do.

He drinks from the faucet, even the toilet if the lid is left up :( and when given water in his bowl he plays with it, spilling it all over the kitchen floor in puddles. His appetite remains the same and there is no weight loss or gain. He eats and plays as he has always done.

I would take it somewhere to get it creamated but the trip is far, and I've got no car and I don't think I should drag a dead cat on a bus or train. Thank you.

My cat lives in the house, but I let it go anywhere freely either inside or outside the house. It never pee inside my house before but lately, it started to pee on the floor, especially on confined area, like behind the TV. What's wrong with it?, the weird thing is that it only pee in the house but never poop. and how to remove their urine smell on carpet?

I found a kitty cat outside about 2 months ago. He is extremely sweet and loving, but we are not supposed to have cats or dogs. He has been in the wild to long, he kills and eats anything from snakes to moles. You can take a cat out of the wild, but you cant take the wild out of the cat. We have a bird and the kitty torments her so bad. If anyone is interested please send me a message. I can give you more info. thanks!! GOOD HOMES ONLY!!!!!!!

My cat is mad at me. He usually sleeps with me and cuddles on the sofa. When I got him to go to bed last night, he growled and got up. He is now giving me go to h*** looks this morning and won't even let me pet him. He doesn't seem sick. He's eating and playing with the other cats but he just turns his back to me. I honestly don't remember p*ssing him off about anything. What do you think?
