when we adopted Bo our tuxedo cat, he came home in a box, it was the happiest time of his life being adopted, so we think thats why he likes boxes and his carrier, he gets in his carrier with no problem!

Well, cats are ALL strange. :-) Each one has his little quirks. I have had cats who loved to sleep in enclosed spaces, the snugger the better (dresser drawers, behind the couch, between shelves, inside boxes), and even under the covers.
We have had other cats who absolutely hate to be confined or "squeezed in" in any way.
So, no, there's nothing wrong with your cat. That's just his own personal oddity. Be glad -- it will make trips to the vet or traveling with Mr. Cat a lot easier on everybody.

I think it's because your cat doesn't associate it with going to the vet. My cat could hear me getting the cage all the way from the basement & I'd have to shut all doors so he couldn't escape from me & basically cram him in it to take him to the vet! I think once a cat has a bad experience at the doctor, then they start associating the carrier with a bad experience. Hopefully that doesn't happen for you.

as long as it isnt a "threatning" experience with cats they should love the closed in comfy space of a cat carrier mine do...they arent scared to get into it or use it for a sleeping space they love it...i think the only reason cats might become frightened of one is they may associate it with a vet visit or such...

i think of ALL of my cats have finished that to a pair degree. the three I even have now, the 12 12 months previous mixed tabby, she does not do numerous something different than consume, sleep and love up. The Bengal likes to chew on bags and lick vinyl tableclothes. The orange and white likes to chew on the baggage and pass slowly interior them and consume in spite of is interior. i'm not sure of the well being ramifications, yet I constantly tell them to renounce. Everytime I carry interior the groceries, "the boys" (the Bengal and the super orange and white) would desire to verify all the contents and rustle each and each lower back a minimum of five circumstances. One time I regarded down on the floor the place the baggage the place and that i observed 2 catbutts protruding from one plastic bag. needless to say, it is the place the hamburger replaced into. luckily, I have been given to them before they have been given to it. They love the crinkle of the baggage plenty, that i offered them this super tube that crinkles whilst they walk in it. they prefer it and frequently times even sleep in it.

My cat carrier I put on the floor and Angel went in & out with no problems - I previously had told her "Mommy bought you a house". When we went to the Vet, I said, "Mommy put a door on your house". She went in and I shut the door.
She plays hide & seek with me, especially when I am looking for her, I forget she's in her house.

You didn't do anything to really make him get used to it, and most likely you didn't do anything to make him NOT like it. Nothing strange here. It's probably a SAFE cozy place for him which he doesn't associate with anything negative.
