How about picking one of the names from the main male character in Disney's the Aristocats?

Abraham de Lacey Guiseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley

Otherwise, wait until you get it - then you'll now if it's a boy or a girl, what colour it is & how it behaves & acts - then perhaps a suitable name will just come to you. Or post again for more suggestions once you know.

Though I just noticed your name on Yahoo ... Paul McCartney was a member of the Beetles ... so you could always call your cat Beetle.

If you're a big LOTR fan, you could name it after some of the characters. Bilbo, Frodo, Samwise, Pippin, Gimli, Gandalf, or Elrond for a male. Arwen or Galadriel for a female.
If none of those appeal to you, here are some names that have I've actually heard used before: Toby, Bob, Fred, Bill, Tom, Jack, Homer, Beulah, Katrina, Buster, Mittens, Mr. Whiskers, Cautious, Squeegee, Whitey, Downy & Patches. I realize that some of these names are very unoriginal. Some are clearly either male or female, while others are unisex.
If none of these names appeal to you, try that site that Laurel S suggested. Or just use your imagination.

Here's what not to name your cat : "Kitty"
I named her that and she's a goth!
Seriously, out everyngith and pregnant every year!
No joke.
Their names ALWAYS reflect their behaviour and personality.
Name it Snowy!!!
Or Joey!!! (it sounds like a playful cat's name)
Give it a beautiful name if you want it to love you.
My cousin named her cat Chamba Wamaba
and now he's all thug style.
Say the name a lot and if it noticed the name then it means it likes it.
And those names the other guy said are a bit true. Those kinda names give them personality.

Stupid.

Kitty.

Noob Saibot.

Pimpcat 5000.

Dog.

Rooster.

Evil.

Sly.

Just not Spots, Paws, or something cutesy like that. Give your cat some extra personality.

(By the way, almost all of the names on that list are names of actual cats. Including Stupid which is the funniest.)

Sometimes, old fashioned names can suit a cat, such as Cedric, Henry, Agatha or Henrietta.

My own cats are called Pebbles, Spot and Sammy.

Wait to see how it acts, and how it looks. Then name it something based on his/her personality. Expirement with different names and see which ones stick the most. Good Luck, and enjoy having a new member of the family!
