four months ago, I adopted a 4 month old (neutered) male kitten from my local SPCA. well, he was tiny when I brought him home but now he's as big (maybe bigger) than my 2 year old (spayed) female cat. so I was just wondering when male kitties stop growing. my vet said that he's a quite large to only be 8 months old. so I was just wondering. he's a very crazy boy who loves to annoy my female every chance he gets. LOL!! any answers will be appreciated! Thx!!

oh, and he's not overweight. he's an average size.

I want to get a cat soon but I'm not sure if I should get this adorable little kitten or 2 older but very sweet cats. The 2 cats come together (2 for the price of 1). If I get an older cat then it's like saving a cats life but it would be nice to have a kitten. Help!

She was a stray that showed up here a couple months ago and we have sort of adopted her as our own. But we can't keep her in the house because she doesn't like our two dogs.

About two weeks ago I started noticing that she was getting wider in her abdominal area and she has become more friendly towards us and our other cat, who is fixed. She hasn't been fixed yet because we didn't think she was old enough. When we found her she was small, and we guessed only a few months old.

How can I tell if she is pregenant? I've heard people say check if the nipples are pink but does that mean just the nipple, or the nipple and the area around it?

I got a 2 year old cat last week from a shelter. He was neutered, de wormed, had his shots updated and chipped in a matter of days.

The day after I got him he started coughing. I thought it was a hairball. 4 days later he is still coughing at least twice in the evenings when I'm with him. He also has little interest in his food and his behaviour has changed from his needy, playful self to docile and sleepy.

What could be wrong with him, if anything, and what should I do?

For the most part, I have trained my kitten, now 6 months old from being on my dining room table when I am there. This week, he has really misbehaved and knocked off the pizza box and vase of flowers (fake, thank goodness). When I was out of the room. He hasn't been on there in over a month until this week. I have a squirt bottle I use when I am there. I know when he has been on there when I am gone because the place mats are on the chairs or floor on occasion. I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas other than my vets idea of getting mouse traps and setting them under newspapers on the table so that when he goes on there, they will go off and scare him. The newspapers are to protect him from getting his feet in them. (He is not one cat that is scared of anything). I have a wierd cat that eats paper and kleenex anyway. Thank you in advance for your honest and Kind answers.

My female cat hasn't yet been spayed, she is a little over a year old. She goes into heat every so often (you know the deal), and she is in heat right now. Earlier today my male cat was on top of her, both in "position." He wasn't moving in a humping motion or anything (or moving at all, really). He has done this sometimes (jumped on top of her) when he is playing, and she usually pushes him off or I will see him (play) biting at her. This time he wasn't doing anything, they were just sitting there (him on top of her).

But he isn't even 6 months old yet -- he was estimated to be 2 months when I got him, so he would be 5 months if that estimate was correct. When do male cats begin? My female cat started only recently, and she is more than twice his age!

Thanks for your help.

he uses his box he is 7-8 months old and does not spray yet, I am going to have him nutered before it starts. Butt, will his urine still smell as bad even after he is nutered? When he uses his box sometime it runs on to his back paw. So when I see him head that way I grab him when he is done & before he can get out and track that smelly stuff onto my carpet and then I use baby wipes on his back paws and wipe his privates so he doesent get it on anything he sits on. Is there a really good cat litter that lets the urine go straight down fast instead of running left or right onto his paws?

This just occurred to me. I really do know a lot about cats, but not this one & have never seen it asked. I realized that every time she wakes from a nap & says "Hello" she reaches out her RIGHT arm & paw. She also pats her toys with her right paw, as well as patting me with her right--when she senses I'm a little "down." Seems beyond coincidence, & after all, what "shouldn't" cats be right or left "pawed?" Have you ever noticed with your cat/s? Love to hear from you. No "nawss" please? (Or do I expect too much?)
Thanks!

Is it true that if you keep a long haired cat indoors, you should keep grass so that it can eat it in order to puke up its fur balls? Someone told me this and I'm not sure if I believe them.

He has injuries from possibly another animal--large cat or a dog, or human. He has been hurt by neighbors before; they poured some kind of acid on him around a year ago. It is horrible for him to stay inside, and my kids cant resist his whining at the door. He has a wound on his face now that just makes me ill. His cheek area is damaged. It is a rather gruesome wound. Have meds from the vet, it will heal and mend, but I want to convert him from indoor/outdoor to strictly indoor. I am tired of him getting hurt. He has lost a step and is getting the worst of the battles these days. I want to neuter him and was wondering if it might keep him home. Id like to see him grow old with us. He is awesome with the kids, loving and smart, but this territorialness and the peeps that hurt him before scare me. I need suggestions for the convesion process. Please help, I am afraid he will get killed one day. I couldnt bear that.

Brooklyn, whom I've just recieved from my daughter, likes to wake up at 4am ever morning and play. He is a sweet boy but, if i don't wake up he will keep meowing and nibbling at my arm, walk over my body until I wake. He has access to out side, but unless I personally take him to the window he won't go first thing in the morning. Any suggestions? I'm losing to much sleep over this matter.

I just recently had a relative pass away that had a lot of cats......we found some photos that mean a lot to the family....but they smell terrible. Is there any way to get rid of the smell? Or at least weaken it so it is tolerable?
