Not true. Orange Tabby Cats can either be male or female. The same is true for Gray Tabby Cats. I've had both.

Some color patterns are carried on the sex chromosomes such as the tri-color calicos and tortoiseshells. These cats are 99 and 44/100 % female.
Orange tabbies are statistically 75% male, 25% female and that's just the genetic roll of the dice at a particular mating. We had a litter of four female orange tabbies at the shelter one time.

I have heard that of orange tabby cats (I have an orange tabby male and have not seen a female myself to date tho they do exist) but not a gray...my mom has a gray tabby that is male in her backyard. It is more tortise shell or calico tabby cats that tend to be female rather than male. I have two, a tortise shell and a calico who are both female.

We had a orange tabby male by the name of Pineapple...he travelled with us hitchiking many years ago from New Orleans to Denver...and on the eve he was to be neutered came down with a cat disease. 'We spent many a dollar getting hime sound. Then on the night before he was to be neutered, the buggar disappeared....trust me, orange tabby cats DO exist..

No!It is according to eye color.Orange cat Blue=girl Green=boy and gray the other way around.

Not true.... I had a Gray and Black Taby and he was Male....and when i lived in Florida I had an Orange Taby and it was Female.
