I named my gray male cat Gandalf, after Gandalf the Grey in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (the books, not the movie). We call him Gandy for short.

Doesn't look like you need any more suggestions! But I think pessimopt's "Gandalf" is great! Someone said "Killer"--not a very nice name for a cat? Maybe a pit-bull! Cats "seem" to like names with an "S" in them. So far, I've chosen names for my cats that related to their personality, or whatever. I had a grey cat I named "Mer" because that's what he was always saying! (Maybe the "M" is good, too--close to "ME-ow!) Don't be TOO quick to choose a name; it might not suit your kitty at all. Good luck!

If it's a dark grey I would name him smokey. Try to match the name with his personality.

Whatever you do, don't name him something like Mr. Tinkles in the movie Cats & Dogs. He will have issues and try to take over the world.

I like the name Edward.
