get her spayed.
when they go in heat ( about 6 months) its CRAZY
they meow and howl and SCREAM and roll around and arch their backs and stuff alLLLLLLL DAAYYYY.
heat is the time when they are ready to mate. PLEASE get her spayed NOW, there are too many cats already, who end up getting euthanized.

She'll let you know when she's on heat ... it's known as 'calling' with cats for the very good reason that a lot of them make a lot of noise when they are in season.
It'll sound a little different from her normal range of miaows ... at it's worst it can sound like they are possessed by some sort of devil - but generally it's just a persistant meow.
They also become much more affectionate when they are in season & will roll around on the floor.
With the females that don't make a loud calling noise, this affection & rolling is sometimes the only way that you can tell.
If you catch hold of the scruff of her neck at this time, you may find that she takes up the breeding position, she'll crouch with her body to the ground & her tail will swing over to the side & she'll slightly raise her hindquarters.
The age when they first start to call seems to vary from cat to cat - it can be as young as six months or when they are over a year old. However, if she can, she'll want to escape & find a mate ... so, unless you really want to breed from her & can find good homes for any resulting kittens, I'd suggest that you start thinking about getting her neutered.
If you are going to breed from her, please try to keep her inside, let her finish growing up herself before having her first litter. If necessary, after her first call, go & see your vet, I believe that there is an injection that she can have which will stop her calling for a period of time.... not sure what it is called though, sorry - however your vet will know.

Im living with my first cat. I learned right away what its like when a cat goes into heat! It is the most annoying behavior I have ever seen in animals. She would lay down with her butt in the air and just meow for like a week straight.
I would highly recommend having her spayed! If she goes into heat with out getting pregnant (which im really hoping you didnt have plans for breeding because cats are to overpopulated and you could make money a better way), anyways after many unpregnant heats female cats are more prone to PYROMETRA. Which my cat got at the age of 1! It usualy happens in older cats and often has no symptoms until its to late. It is very deadly and requires surgery to remove the ovaries.
Also letting your cat outside to mate with males could also pass diseases along. Female cats and get feline AIDS as well as Leukemia. I saw many cases while working at an animal shelter.
Hope all goes well with your kitty!

Trust me when she is in heat you will know!!!!
I thought my cat was ill the first time but then she started to attract all the male cats in the area.
Make sure though that you have homes for the kittens before you allow her to have any though because that can be the hard part, if not get her fixed!!

Do not let her out alone. She is able to have kittens but do not let her have them unless you are a qualified breeder and she has papers. It is time to have her "fixed" so that she doesn't have kittens. This is healthier for her and for the environment.
You really don't want a female in heat. They are very noisy. Males bite them in the neck and they "present."

6 months is just about the age she can go into heat, take her to the vet and get her spayed. DO NOT let her out again until she is spayed.

No problem you can bet the house on this one,.
a tom cat will find her and it does not take 30 minutes for her to be pregnant. If she goes out and she is not fixed she will get pregant.

"heat" is when they get so horny that they don';t mind that boy cat's thingies have a hook on the end
strangely enough, they do it doggie style
she's old enough to get fixed, also, fixed cats live longer
spay and neuter your pets, or at least stop dropping them off in my neighborhood
