My cat's top lip is swolen and sticking out and one of his paws has swolen larger than the other one. His lip has done this before and the swelling went down and he was fine, but his paw never has done this. He's not limping on it or anything, and he doesnt act like it hurts.

I'd think kitty has an infection and should be on penicillin or antibiotics by now!

If your cat has been fighting, he probably had his paw bitten by the other cat and it is infected.
He will eventually stop walking on it. It must be very recent and he is not feeling the pain yet. Cats are very tough.

The vet can fix this pronto with an injection.

If you cannot afford a vet, bath his paw in salt water a couple of time a day until it clears up. Should happen within 24/36 hours usually. If you can see the wound, clean it with salt water and apply a dot of anti-septic cream on it, like "Savlon". That will kill the infection.

Have done this many times for my cat as he gets into fights all the time and I cannot afford the vet every week.

But do not use anything else on him. Human medication will kill a cat. Don't put anything on his fur either, because he will lick it.

Getting your cat to your vet or calling your local ER vet would be best. However, if you can't contact your vet and there is no local ER vet to call, I would suggest this site :

http://www.justanswer.com/pet-health-care.asp?r=gapet&B=Vet

It's a 24 / 7 online site. For a very small fee, a professional ( vet or vet tech ) will reply to your question within minutes.

Good Luck !

Does your cat get into cat fights? One of my cats received a very swollen place on his neck after getting bit by another cat and I took him to the vet. My vet said that my cat could've died from the infection that came from that bite. I would get your cat to the vet asap.

go to your vet - make sure it is something to ignore and not something that needs to be treated!
