I think your decision should be based on your attachment to the cat, Here in Florida at least where I live it is recommended that you dispose of dead cats and dog in the trash can,
You can take it to a vets office and he will charge you a disposal fee.
you can take the cat to animal control, But i would call first and and find out what their policy is.
Personally I would bury it in my back yard in a place where it would not be disturbed.

As long as you are not pregnant, you should be fine. Sorry for the loss of the kitty. If kitty had Feline AIDS OR LEUKEMIA it doesn't cross the human barrier. Your skin probably had more trauma from the bleach than the feces. Please moisturize well for the skin that I'm sure is peeling by now. Bleach is very wicked to the skin. Besides, a 10% solution of bleach will kill the AIDS virus on contact.

The county Animal Control unit should be able to help you. Call them and tell them the location of the body. I am sorry you have to handle it, but thank you for trying to take care of this cat even in death.

Either call your local humane society and see if they will pick it up or just bury it in your backyard. Make sure if you bury it to go at least 3 feet down if your yard is unfenced or else another animal could unearth it.

can't just dig a hole in the back yard, or if you live in the city you just might have to get a cab and take it were you need to, to get it creamated

First 2 cats (father & grandson) were wrapped in their blankets & put in a trash bag & buried in the alley several feet deep by my father, who loved both of them very much.
I was present, when my cat Dixie died. I wrapped her with one of my fleece jackets that she was attached to, and put her in a box. (I was not about to throw her in with the trash, because SHE WAS NOT TRASH - she was well-loved).

The humane society is a good idea. You could also contact your local vet. They may know of places to go to that you don't.

The best place to do it is in your own garden if you have one in your house. When my kitty died, I placed her in a box and dug up a hole in a corner of my garden. I buried it there and placed a small stake on its grave..
