I just brought home a 2 month old stray male kitten that I adopted from a shelter. He is my first pet. I was so excited and had planned to cuddle him and play with him the entire day, but as soon as he came out of his carrier, he went into hiding under my bookshelf. Now I have him in a small room with his litter box, a bed, his food and water, and a small toy. I've closed the door to give him a chance to get used to his new environment. What should I do to get him to warm up to me? Would it be bad for me to pick him up anyway and hold him for a while? I worry that my kitten will be the kind of cat that doesn't like human contact... Kinda feel rejected. =\

I have two cats one short haired one long. The short haired one keeps throughing up. I thought it might have been a round worm cause I read that they are passed down from the mother to the kitten. So we tried to give her deworming medicine, but she is still throughing up. She is about 1 year old and she doesn't have her shots yet.

What she is throughing up is some what digested food. Now we've been giving them Perina One brand food, so I don't know what is going on. Please someone help.

Also she brought in flees, and we've been trying to keep them at bay, but I would like to get rid of them. Anyone have an easy way of disposing of flees?

He went and bought himself a flowered swim cap, yellow Speedo, and begs to go with me while I do my swim training. I KNOW he does not want to swim, he just wants to go because there is a hot sauna room and he could take a nap in there while I swim. I hate that he wasted his allowance on such a purchase...

I worry when my kitten will grow up , he would want to be out side . But I had a other cat that went outside one day when I was on a trip. My paren'ts were watching her . When I came back the next day she died . We found out she had been poised. I think it was our neighber , she hated cat's and she been poiseding them. Can I prove that she did it and should I make my cat a inside cat . I love him and I dont want him to die. Need alot of advice.

I really want to go after the bum[s] who left her in a family way. I had explained to all of the neighborhood cats that she was going to get fixed and one, if not more of them, ignored me and took her anyway. My question is in the state of Washington how hard is it to go after kitten support and what kind of visitation do the father[s] get? What are my cat's rights?

I talk to her like a human, and she responds by doing what I ask.
for example, bring jitter (her toy), bring lady (her toy ladybug which she pulls on the string to make it shake)

Or even, go drink some water.

she does it all.

I have been looking for weeks for a kitten in the Baltimore area my application didn't go thru at the Baltimore County Humane Society and I tried another place in Reisterstown but they ended up quarantining the cats and the center so I couldn't get a kitten from there. I don't want to spend more than $100. Petsmart isn't something I want to do either cause of some of the cats coming from there ending up with rabies. If anyone in the Baltimore area knows somewhere that I can adopt a kitten for under $100 or free I would love it. Thanks so much!!!

Cause my parent's barly let me keep him in the first place. The only reason they let me keep him cause my boyfriend gave him to me and I told my bf I lost my other cat and my bf brought me one one day. And the other thing is My kitten he always seems to chew on everything he sees . I dont know if he's theething or playing . When will he lose his baby theeth and will he grow out of and when? He even bites me and my boyfriend .He jumps in my face at night and he acts like he attacks me. But I know he's just playing about that . Anyways. How can I get him to stop. I tryed the spray bottle . But he loves to play in water all the time. And he just chases the water . Is there any other way for me to make him stop. I cant put him in a room . He cries and my parent's say I have to watch him so he wont get into any trouble agian. Thanks for the advice,

She was 2.92kg (6.45lbs) when we found her, around 18 August; she's 3.24kg (7.14lbs) today. Here's a picture:

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h229/kmennie/sophie/000_0024.jpg

A teen-ager, maybe?

She is going to a vet soon; I'm just getting curious about what I should be feeding her -- cat or kitten food? (Right now she gets some dry food for 4-12 month old kittens, and a variety of cat and kitten wet food.) Some of the larger-sized cat treats seem too big for her to eat comfortably.

I don't have enough experience with cats to make a cat/kitten guess based on her behaviour. She's a charming cat, very well-trained (and bright enough to have her new now-owners trained...), affectionate, and she likes to play a bit, too.

Thanks for any well-educated guesses!

I have a 2 and half year old female cat and a 6 month female kitten. Last night the cat had the kitten pinned down twice, biting on her neck. When I tried to pull the cat off the kitten, the kittens head moved along with my motions because the cat's jaw was locked in. Then the cat held the kitten down with her back legs and starting to hump her. I was extremely mortified. After all was said and done I took the kitten and locked her in my room for the night. We wanted to be away from the cat.

I am going to get the cat and kitten fixed STAT!!! But do you think it's time to get rid of her? She's more trouble than anything. Whenever she gets mad at me she either pisses or poops on the floor. I love her lots but sometimes you just have to know when to say enough is enough.
