That was a stupid joke you made i hope as for why they don't land on their feet here you got some explanation that hopefully will convince you not to throw no cats of a tower block.
"Contrary to popular belief, falling cats do not always land on their feet. In fact, every day cats sustain serious injuries from falling out of open windows, off balconies, and from rooftops. Cats do not fear heights and will often leap after a bird or a butterfly only to find themselves falling through the air. The trauma sustained from a fall of over two stories (24 to 30 feet) is known as high-rise syndrome.
If a cat falls a short distance, he can usually right himself and land on his feet. If he falls more than one or two floors, however, he may sustain injury. Although he can right himself, his legs and feet cannot absorb the shock.
Cats have exceptional coordination and balance and a flexible musculoskeletal system. They are normally able to orient their bodies in space in such a way as to land on all four limbs. This is what happens when a cat falls:
The cat determines which way is up and rotates the head until it is right side up.
He brings the front legs up close to the face, ready to protect it from impact.
He twists the upper part of the spine to bring the front half of his body around in line with the head.
He bends his hind legs so that all four limbs are ready for touchdown and, as this happens, he twists the rear half of his body to catch up with the front.
However, whether or not a cat lands on his feet depends on several factors, including the distance he falls and the surface on which he falls."

You know what? That's not really very funny. You probably asked this to get a rise out of all the ailurophiles here. But, regardless, part of your question is interesting.
Cats don't always land on their feet. However, when they're falling from a reasonable distance (like off the top of the refrigerator) they turn themselves in midair to land on their feet. If you ever get a chance to see this, pay close attention and you'll notice.
Now, if you throw one off a tower block, it's going to die no matter how it twists its body. That's just too high up! And if you ever did do such a horrible thing, I hope they'd lock you in jail and throw away the key!

To me shame, when I was a kid I used to throw my cat off the balcony, it always landed on its feet, the poor thing always came straight back for another go, even though it had clawed me as I threw it off.
My current cat once fell off the bathroom window ledge but he landed on his chin :( I think it depends on the cat.
Poor T.C. I was an evil child, luckily I saw the error of my ways, I'd preach at you but you're probably lying anyway.

properly it may stick to that the cat could land on its ft. Now in case you strapped the toast on butterside up, that is an fullyyt diverse state of affairs. till that's what you meant interior the 1st place. And in spite of if it is, i will nevertheless wager the cat could land on its ft by way of fact it is heavier than the toast.

First of all, your a moron for throwing a cat. Second, if it was very high up then the cat will lose its mid air balance and tumble. Not knowing where the ground is.

The higher a cat falls from, the more likely it is to survive. It orientates itself, and spreads out like a parachute, giving it a low terminal velocity. Most cats falling from more than 7 storeys survive.
