I have two cats one short haired one long. The short haired one keeps throughing up. I thought it might have been a round worm cause I read that they are passed down from the mother to the kitten. So we tried to give her deworming medicine, but she is still throughing up. She is about 1 year old and she doesn't have her shots yet.

What she is throughing up is some what digested food. Now we've been giving them Perina One brand food, so I don't know what is going on. Please someone help.

Also she brought in flees, and we've been trying to keep them at bay, but I would like to get rid of them. Anyone have an easy way of disposing of flees?

Chances are since your kitty has fleas she probably has tape worms also, the tape worms come from ingesting fleas either from eating or cleaning. if the worm problem is severe enough it will actually cause a blockage in the kitties intestines.
The cat has no option but to throw up anything eaten because there is no place for it to go.
Personally I use advantage to control fleas on my cats works for me.
Check around your Kitty's butt and see if she has any white Little worms in her hair, they may also appear a small pieces of rice when dryed out. If so you can purchase from your vets a medication called DRONCIT it comes in tablet form, goes for about five bucks a pill and you only use one tablet for every ten pounds of kitties weight.

Your cat does not enter in one side and out from the other, that would be THROUGHS...your cat THROWS UP, as in vomits.\

SInce it's fall, I bet it;'s because she doesn't digest her hair well. Try a bit of butter or oil in her food or a "hairball" additive to help her digest the hair she's cleaning off herself.
Also try a brand of food that isn't as rich, one that is formulated for indoor cats. These "indoor" formulas have higher fiber content and natural oils which help them digest.

Best way to rid your house of flees is to vacuum the house with Moth Balls in the vacuum bag!!
The fleas get sucked in and killed by the moth balls.
Dispose of the vacuum cleaner bag after EACH USE. Seal it up in a plastic garbage bag and take it out of your house!!!

Do NOT let it sit in the vacuum where the fleas who weren't killed by the moth balls can re-escape back to your home.

For fleas, use a treatment like Revolution or Frontline. For the worms, go to the vet and he can give the cat a shot to get rid of them.

Sounds like hair balls. My vet told me to put a bit of margarine on my cats fur so he licks it off. This helps a lot with the throwing up I've found. Fleas, go to the health food store, get some brewers yeast and dust your cat with it. It gets rid of the fleas without the chemicals.

I would take the poor thing to the vet if she keeps THROWING UP. For the FLEA situation, you can buy drops to put on the back of her neck, or, the vet can do it for an arm and a leg.

you need to give your cats the flea dip once a week and buy that raid flea spray and use it on areas after you clean... dont spray it near food...
your cat may also need a different type of food or take it to the vet because throwing up isn't normal

Feline Greenies pill pockets. I haven't used them yet, but they sound like a wonderful idea. Disguise the pill as a treat!
