You may want to wait until the older cats are gone, but before that you could drop some hints to your mom by saying, it sure will be lonely around here without our cats. The house will seem so empty. Mom, I know you said no, but if I took on all the responsibility of a new kitten, cleaning litter box, paying for it's food and shots, entertaining it, training it, would you just consider thinking about what I've just said.
Your mom may be thinking about all the shots, neutering/spaying and vet costs and if you get one from the humane society that costs money also. If that is the case, would she or you consider a cat a little older 1yr or so that way shots, etc. have already been done.
Another approach is to ask your mom if she would come with you to the humane society and just look at the cats/kittens available--I'll bet she may fall in love with one. Good luck and I do support your feelings on this.

If you are always bored, how long will it be because you get fed up looking after a cat? An animal is a huge commitment. A kitten needs feeding 3 times a day so you cannot simply leave it at home on its own if you are at school. They don't come ready trained - that is something you will have to do so you will need to start learning about animal welfare and behaviour rather than thinking you can bring something "cute" home and all will be ok. I rather expect this is the reason your mother is not keen on the idea as probably everything will be down to her to sort out, such as feeding, cleaning litter trays and making sure the cat is fit and well. Perhaps if you do some research and show both of your parents that you can be responsible for a cat's welfare they might decide that you can have one but you really need to understand what you are taking on. Every day cats are returned to animal shelters because their owners have become bored with them. Don't add to the statistics.

I know you really want a kitten right now, but maybe you should wait for when the other kitties do die. When that happens you can ask your mom again and she might let you. I am guessing that your mom might think that there are already enough kitties in your home at the moment.
( I hope she lets you have one or two when the time is right)

It takes a lot of care to look after a pet, and too many cats at the same time is not good.
Especially as the kitten would need to get used to the house, and prob'ly do 'business' somewhere else than litter tray when she is new.
Also, when they die, you might be too sad to look properly after another cat.
Wait a bit and see how you feel in the next months, or even years.

Try to show your mom that you are ready to care for a new cat. Do things without being asked. Show her you can save money to pay for the necessary things. Make her see that you can handle it. Don't argue with her about it because that will only make her less willing to agree with you. Good luck and sorry about your cats :(

Bringing a new kitty in with the older ones in poor health is NOT a good idea. Let them die in peace when it is their time, then bring in a new one. The new one will create jealousy and want to play and take a lot of your time, etc.

right now isnt a good idea for your cats sake. wait for them to pass on and see how you handle their deaths. im still mourning my kitty and i never want another cat again. its too painful. if you get a kitten now your older cats will be overwhelmed. your mom is right in this. wait a while and then ask her again and see what she says.
